A great wee find.

My friend & I decided to go out for lunch one Tuesday and we wanted something good, local and fresh. She suggested the Oakwood Restaurant as I'd never been before and she gave it great reviews, we just had to go there. It's just a few miles outside of Inverness , Loch Ness side. we thoroughly enjoyed or 'valentine's' meal. Lovely, calm atmosphere with no sense of rush- and the food is excellent in taste and value for money. We will definitely be back!

An exceptional experience. We took a friend from New Zealand in December 2013 (no choice available on the webpage). The service was excellent and friendly and the meal was great. We had first discovered Oakwood at the end of a long afternoon walk along the Caledonian canal from Bught park (unfortunately it was a Wednesday - its closed on Wednesdays... More

This restaurant was recommended to us a number of months ago and is now one of our favourites. The food is beautifully cooked, the service is in a unique style & surroundings are quirky. Bring your own wine or beer with no corkage charge and have a great meal.

We came here on the way to the airport following a week in Scotland on our honeymoon. We had made a booking, arrived early and took a walk along the river which was really nice. The restaurant is really quirky, with the post office and shop tucked in the corner. The food was piping hot and delicious with plenty of... More

Not many places are open around here to eat on a Sunday night in February, we stumbled across this place with hungry tummies and were not disappointed!! A big meat eater & a vegan we often find it hard to please both of our culinary tastes! A great selection of locally sourced, traditional Scottish food plus 4 vegan options!! Amazing!... More

We stopped here while driving along the A82. We were given a lovely welcome and enjoyed a delicious lunch. It was easy to find a spot to park. We'd definitely return if we were in the area again.

Enjoyed a meal with friends. The food was good and don't have any complaints. We had a nice time on a quiet evening. Host was right mix of serving, engaging and leaving us to chat. Personally I'm not a fan of byob and favour super duper pretentious presentation. Acid test would I go back - yes.

I always say the vegetables determine whether or not someone can cook because over cooked vegetables are a no-no. Potatoes three ways and four types of vegetables with our main course were a winner for us and they were kept warm for us too! My hot water was served in a beautiful tea cup and came in a silver pot.... More
