Quaint

An unusual mix of a souvenir shop, a post office and a wonderful award winning restaurant. Relaxed, laid back ambiance. Service very good. Food varied and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit. We would have returned a second night but it is not open every evening.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch before going along the road for a cruise on Loch Ness!! Loved the informal surroundings of the restaurant and when we looked at the menu, the problem was what too choose as we liked the thought of almost everything! My wife had scallops and I had crab cocktail. Delicious with the produce doing the... More

This is a restaurant not a cafe. It says so clearly on the door. And the reason is evident when you eat here : the focus is on excellent food. The service was also faultless. The portion sizes were Highland size too. Overall a priceless find behind a humble exterior. Thanks Jason. :-).

Best meal in a long time. Exceptional service. The staff couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful. Highly recommend the Chocolate and Highland Park cheesecake, The Scotch mist and The Cranachan so you'll need to go a few times to taste them all, lol. Looking forward to going back again at the first opportunity 😊

I had the pleasure of dining here on my trip to Loch Ness. The food was locally sourced and plentiful, but above all, delicious; and the service friendly and welcoming, with the gentleman – I assume to be the owner – even going so far as to recommend places to visit that are more off the beaten track. The gift... More

We visited this interesting little restaurant with a wheelchair-bound friend. I ascertained beforehand that the restaurant was suitable for a wheelchair, although, as advised, it does not have toilet facilities for disabled people. I reserved a table by the window, although there isn't really any view. There was a good choice of locally sourced Scottish food, which was excellent and... More

As locals to Inverness we have a large choice of places to eat but the Oakwood is amongst the best of them. Friendly and very well run, you are made to feel like you have been invited here as you feel genuinely welcome. The choice from the menue is Very good with something for all tastes in pages of mouth... More

Loved this place. We first walked in without reservations and were able to get a two seater in the corner. Was met by the owner and he was very accommodating. He has a very dry sense of humor but couldn't ask for a better person. We never had to asked for anything except for what we ordered for dinner. The... More

The Oakwood is a small restaurant close to Loch Ness and Inverness. The very small number of bad reviews for this place are from people who seem to want to buy take-out coffees and use their toilets. But this is a RESTAURANT not a café or beachside takeaway! For anyone wanting a first class meal in homely surroundings you can't... More

We took a cruise to the Loch Ness, and after that and a nice walk, we found this lovely place, close to the river. Food was amazing, tasty, fine, delicious. You can also enjoy a fantastic hospitality from Gus and Gaby, and you can pick lovely and good quality presents for your friends and family. It really worth it!
