This is a small restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. They were very busy and consequently the food was a little slow but worth waiting for.

After hearing from friends in Inverness Cafe 1 was a nice eatery we were shocked at the service and food. We arrived on Thursday evening and were left stood at the locked front door before being let in, the apparent manager came charging over whilst shouting at other members of staff to greet us. We were made to feel embarrassed... More

We decided to try this restaurant for the first time yesterday and had an excellent dinner in pleasant surroundings with very good, friendly and attentive service. I had the two specials, tempura monkfish on black pudding with chilli jam. The batter was light and crisp and the black pudding - I think it was Grant's of Speyside - was delicious.... More

I've had some great evening meals here and popped in for lunch this week. Starters were a bit on the mean side but the size of the mains made up for it. The lunchtime set menu is quite limited but great value. Service was friendly and efficient as always.

Booked one of the last seatings at 6pm a day in advance. We were offered a choice between the early bird and standard menus. We chose the early bird, not for the price, for the different menu choices. From the moment we made this choice the standard of service dropped. Or sped up would be more correct. The table next... Starter and main course offered about 1/2 options for lactose intolerant (dairy free) customers. A good menu however and wonderfully tasty food. Desserts had no options for lactose intolerant customers which was a bit of a shame after a lovely starter and main. Food was great and my fellow dinners enjoyed their desserts I'm merely voicing the opinion of someone... More

Have dined at cafe 1 twice in the past few weeks for lunch and both times had a lovely meal. My particular favourite was the tomato, basil and chilli soup which was really tasty. Also thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass dish. Service excellent as always.

My wife and I went there on a trip to Inverness. The food was amazing and not too expensive compared with the other restaurants in the area. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant seemed to be family friendly. The gnocchi and duck was fantastic. We would definitely go back.
