Love the variety & choice of the breakfast menu! Excellent value. Clean, spacious resturant area. Family friendly too. Wasn't overly busy.

While touring around Wick, John O Groats and Orkney, we used The Alexander Bain restaurant on a couple of occasions, we as a family found it to be clean, pleasant staff, reasonably priced food and drink and the most important for us is that the kids enjoyed their experience. On both occasions my Husband and I had steak which was... More

We had traveled a long way and arrived mid morning wanting an all day breakfast. In the car park i asked a local where I could get one. "You can't beat Wetherspoons" we were told and they were right, we checked out another place and decided against it, went into The Alexander Bain, ordered our meal. It arrived without delay,... More

I ordered a steak at 7.30pm. After waiting 15 minutes I asked when it would be served and was told soon. After a further 15 minutes I was told the computer system wasn't working but it should not be long. 15 minutes later, still no food. I complained to the duty manager, obtained a refund and left. While I was... More

We met friends for breakfast -there were about 10 of us in all. One person wrote down everyone's order and took it in. We waited for a short while but hey you have to be patient when you're in a big party. The waitress started to bring the order out- so far so good...my husband mentioned he'd taken his insulin... Large pub and bar but the service was very good. Food was pretty much standard fare for a Wetherspoons, nothing too special but cooked well and plenty of it.

I'd like to say that The Alexander Bain Wetherspoons in Wick is a fabulous place to go while visiting this town as I'm originally from there and I want nothing more than people passing through/tourists to enjoy their visit there and think that better service and management in bars and restaurants there would help to achieve this. Unfortunately, the place... More
