Visiting any restaurant off season is going to be a challenge for even the best. I had lunch one cold afternoon in January at Bord de L'eau; there were only 4 other diners and we all sat in the front 'conservatory' overlooking the car park. I opted for 2 courses, the fish soup followed by the Supreme of chicken filled... More

First time eating here and certainly won't be the last. Food was superb loads of choice on menu, difficult to know what to choose. I settled for duck salad starter and sea bass for main, my son had same duck starter and lamb for main course. Both mains served with veg , French fries and gorgeous buttery potatoes. Good choice... Enjoyed eating here several times recently. Food was consistently excellent, especially the steaks, and service couldn't be faulted. Unexpected find in Wick and would highly recommend.

Love to go here, the food is always well presented and tasty, not much on offer for fussy kids but very accommodating in what they offer. Great service and friendly.

Working in the area, it was nice to find a place that did something you would not expect. Good selection on the menu. Starters what you would expect, main course was fish, which was beautiful, with a nice selection of vegetables. No sweets on this visit but a nice coffee to finish. A good selection of wine which complimented the... More

Have eaten here many times and on a recent visit home it was good to see the high standard of cooking has been maintained love the fish fishes here and the creme brûlée as usual didn't disappoint.

We stayed for 10 days in the Wick area and were warned not to go to the Bord de Léau, but after such a long stay we actually tried every establishment in Wick so we thought lets give it a go. The place is very basic and uncomfortable to seat, the toilets were not that clean either, and this when... More

We go to this restaurant every time we visit Caithness and have always had a lovely meal. Service is friendly and the owners are always very welcoming. The chef comes out at the end of the meal to greet everybody, I think that's a lovely touch. The food is rich and warming, I love the potatoes which come as a... More
