Visited Bord de L'eau this evening and had a fantastic meal. Upon walking in there was a waitress there who greeted us kindly and with a smile before showing us to our seats. Once seated we were given the usual menu as well as a small specials board, which I thought was a nice touch. Full of wonderful sounding dishes... More

Ate here on a recent visit to Wick, a real find! Excellent French food prepared by a French chef who came out and introduced himself and was delighted with our feedback! The view from the conservatory is a little bleak, but then so is Wick! I had frogs legs followed by grouse - a good mix of French and Scots.... More

Found this by accident, and stopped for just a main each and shared ice cream for lunch. We thought the food very good, especially the sauces. I can't imagine why anyone would say the food was not French! The conservatory was pleasant on a changeable August day, with a view of the water, and even the bistro chairs reminded me... More

Visited as a group of 8 and most of us had 3 courses. Food was lovely. Tasty and lots of choice. The specials choice was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. The chef introduced himself at the beginning and end which impresed me as he wasnt afraid to hear feedback on the food. We sat in the terrace/conservatory and... More

I will start with the fact that employee of the restaurant goes into the restrooms (which could do with a bit of cleaning) and leaves without washing hands when Our meal (for two) was reasonable, in a English so call French style. It was very unpleasant to freeze sit in the restaurant conservatory on a cold evening. Then the bill... More

I was just passing by, but decided to have a lunch. And it was good decision. First time i have eaten snails- it was really delicious here. Very nice staff. It was a surprise when kitchen chef came to my table. A little disappointment- lack of wifi connection (for travelers it's quite important i think), but the food was worth... More

Nobody does food like the French. This place, run by French chef Danny and his wife is the real thing. The decor is very simple- but the food is exquisite. The smoked salmon starter; the wonderful sauces on perfectly cooked meat (remember if you want your meat cooked well done you have to say this when you order) and the... More

Our meal (for two) was very nice, in a french style. It was also pleasant to sit in the restaurant conservatory on a mild evening. I'd have given the restaurant four stars but, unfortunately, when the bill came I was surprised at how much more expensive our meal was than anticipated. On closer examination of the bill, I found that... More

like this place. Visited with family for lunch. Best black pudding ever tasted. Halibut beautifully cooked. Lamb delicious. Armanac sauce so good I was hard pushed not to lick my plate. Service superb and Janice very welcoming. Chatty and funny. Love chef Danny checking personally all is well. Cannot fault this place and well worth every penny. Well perhaps a... More

Great restaurant with a great chef, worth making a detour if going to Scrabster. Almost worth staying in Wick
