Lovely location with good food

This restaurant is off the beaten track but well worth seeking out. It is of the old worldly type of premises but unusual in such a place that you can see the chefs at work. My partner and I stopped in here on Thursday night to get some food. I have been to aviemore many times but never been very impressed by places to eat. This place was great. I understand the menu changes frequently, but I had beef with spring vegetables and it was excellent. My partner had sea bream and spoke highly of... More

Just popped in for drinks post walk. Nice little pub serving local beers. Didn't stay long but looked at the menu which didn't have much choice.

Went here for beer as it was recommended to me. Only 2 real ales on but they were good ones from Cairngorm brewery. Pub was quite quiet so enjoyed that. However the furniture and decor are a bit worn. Some would say part of the charm, and maybe if I'd been in a different mood I may have agreed. However... More

We come here a couple of times a year when on holiday and always get a good meal. It has a limited menu, five each starters, mains and sweets, which are seasonal, and change gradually over the week. A really tasty white onion and garlic soup to start (make sure your partner has it too or expect to sleep alone)... More

Found this place on tripadvisor and it was great. Beautiful setting adjacent to a river with good outside tables. The food was standard gastro pub prices (mains about £16-18) but food was top notch. Kitchen capacity is not huge so it's important to book in advance.

First of all I feel must apologise for not writing a review before, however I did not want to use this site as sometimes i feel it does give the crazies a voice who would otherwise never have had a platform. I've eaten at the OBI several times now, end of May being the last. Not once have I had... More

Went for lunch after seeing reviews...BIG MISTAKE! Poor menu choices and no fries at lunch time? Dark inside, music a bit loud and the menus stuck to the tables which should have warned us to leave prior to ordering.Settled for a burger at £10 and was tasteless on a toasted bun. Only the side of potato salad was nice. Outside... More

Searching for a lunch place before our walk around Loch an Eilean. So glad we chose this one. A calm, old-worldly atmosphere with antique decor, even an old violin on the bookshelf. Really friendly staff, absolutely delicious food for the budget traveller. Wish we could have relaxed there the whole afternoon, but we had to move on. We didn't call... More
