Pleasant, warming lunch by the fire

Visited here with my wife and daughter for lunch after a walk to the Green Lochan in the morning. Sat by the open fire which was very welcome as it had just started to snow outside! Me and my wife had the butternut squash and red pepper soup which was definitely home made and very tasty. It was... read more

We just popped in here for a few drinks before heading off somewhere else for dinner. Nice service, warm and comfortable and the food that we saw going out looked fantastic so we would certainly come back here for dinner.

The food here is good but not suitable for picky teenagers as there is a very limited menu, which can't be viewed before booking.

In that place Chefs know what are they doing. Place got its own style. For me to informal. Service slow but it matches that place in some weird way. Still very professional. If U are in the rush better come around other time to fully enjoy good quality food. Do not ruin great experience! Once again, strong on food. P.S.... More

Popped in for a lunchtime escapade on a day that the mountain was shut. Very friendly staff. We first sat at the bar and had drinks. a local lager and a scottish cider which was 7.2%. Eek. Very moreish. tasted just like McD's apple pie but without the pie! For food we went for the goats cheese tart on a... More

Ate here on a recommendation and had a lovely meal. Food was amazing, waitors were great, and the whole evening was topped off by an awesome fig and grey goose martini. I don't have a sweet tooth so had another starter for dessert, which meant I got to try two different venison dishes. That made me happy on its own!... More

Looked quaint from outside but when we walked in the dining room was full of smoke from the recently lit fire. We found a table a distance away from the fire. I had celeriac, Apple and Roquefort soup which was ok. I then had wild mushroom risotto which was very disappointing. The mushrooms were tough as if dried and not... More
