We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. What a relief

After a busy morning at a distillery we got to Aviemore for lunch later than planned. At first we went to Macenzies (reviewed also) based on reviews and the fact we aren't sporty people so that side of things didn't appeal. We came here for breakfast recently. We were lucky and got a table right next to the window so we could admire the amazing view. We both had the croissants with assorted jams accompanied with the fruit pot. The range of jams were lovely and the croissants were warm and light whilst the fruit pot was nice and refreshing. As... We visited here for breakfast, it was busy, but they quickly found us a table. The wait for food was ok and the waitress were very attentive. I opted for a cooked vegetarian breakfast, which was fresh and it was good to have something slightly different from the bog standard traditional vegetarian offers that you get in so many other... Still the Number 1 Place to eat in Aviemore. Its been a few months since our last visit when I commented on the slow service. There seem to be more staff on duty now which has improved service time. One still has to wait on the stairs to get a table at busy times, but this is acceptable knowing once... More

As always great trip to cafe and second special one to take some of the fabulous cakes home for my poor hubby who could not join us on the trip. He was well pleased with the selection I took home. Till next time.

The mountain cafe has a stunning view over the Cairngorm mountains. A ham & cheese baguette was stuffed with salad it was yummy for a great price.

I had hears so many good things about this place albeit the cakes & coffee I was really looking forward to my visit. We had to queue for about 20 mins so I took this to be a good sign but sadly not for us. Service was slow & food very average & some of it lukewarm. I had a... More

The food was really good but the service was slow which is a shame because it's really popular and if they speeded up a bit more people could enjoy the food. We had to wait 10 mins for our order to be taken and 25 mins for it to come. They did warn us in advance though. I would recommend... More
