We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. Lunch visit. Paninis, curly fries and coffees all round. Good food and tasty. Cakes on offer looked amazing! But left that for another day. Service average. Would recommend for a lunch or coffee.

My friends and I made a visit to the highland region of Scotland. Whilst in Aviemore, we paid a visit to the mountain cafe. It's a very popular destination and it's not uncommon to have to wait for a while to be seated. Don't let this put you off! The food is of a very high standard and the service... More

Firstly- do not be put off by what might be a reasonable wait for a table- it is worth it! We visited twice during our stay in Aviemore. First for cake and tea where we were spoilt for choice with an amazing selection of cakes and lots of options for my gluten and dairy free brother. Their beetroot and chocolate... More

We got into the cafe before the lunchtime rush and got seated straight away. Cooked breakfasts all round. Delicious food and friendly service. We will definitely return.

Trust me its worth the wait if there is a queue... Coffee is fantastic, food is brilliant and the home-baking really is made on the premises and is as good as it looks... Enjoy, we did and will again!

Great food but visit spoilt by the slow and slightly grumpy service. Even though the food was great, service would put me off visiting again.

Having heard so many good reports about the mountain cafe and this visit being my 4th attempt at getting a table I was left disappointed. Perhaps if it hadn't been built up so much by others I may have felt differently. On sitting down it took over 25 mins to get our coffees (not what you want first thing on... More

We've been here several times as a stop off on our way north, usually just for a cuppa. It never fails to please with fantastic scones and a huge range of home-baked amazing cakes. It can be very busy but is worth the wait. Service can be a bit slow - our visit last week was late afternoon on a... More

We had the best scones we have had in the UK since we have been traveling around and we were spoilt for choice with the array of food. A Kiwi touch which made us feel right at home. We had to wait for a table but it was worth the wait. Would definitely recommend. Great stuff!

The cafe has great views and the food is excellent. The scrambled eggs and the cakes are amazing. At busy times the cafe is a victim of its own success - you may need to wait on the stairs for some while - not a great place to wait if you have a fidgetty 5 yr old with you. On... More
