Description: We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?

It wasn't busy at all but the breakfast still took ages to arrive, tea & coffee was now cold. We then find that for two breakfast's at £9:50 each we got 1 yes ONE slice if toast each. Now taste wise everything was good and quality ok although not any better than what I got from places in Aberdeen &... More

Thanks for voicing your opinion of our All day breakfast. I am sorry that you felt it took too long. On our menu it does state that we do not hot hold anything in the kitchen, everything is cooked to order. We pride ourselves on the fact that everything is sourced locally. All the meats we use are from our... More

We decided to have breakfast here just by chance, the scrambled eggs are to die for. The food, the staff, the view of the mountains..it is just lovely. Very simple decor wise, but well worth a visit if you are lucky enough to be in Aviemore.

We loved the look and feel of this mountain cafe. The whole place was inviting and hip with great outside seating area. unfortunately, we did not choose to dine here because it was always packed with a queque. We had gotten take-away twice and both times, the cakes, althoough scrumptious looking, very quite hard and tasted to be a couple... More

Great produce, home baking, coffee, service. If you can get a seat, this place is always busy and I've seen queues coming all the way down the stairs. This speaks volumes of course, quality.

On our way up to cairngorm and sister in law announces that we have to have lunch here as it's fab. She didn't lie. We were there just after 12.15 and it was busy already, when we left an hour later the queue to get in went down the stairs..... Service is fast and efficient, no messing about with note... More

After spending time at altitude on the slopes of Cairn Gorm what better place to head for than the Mountain café. Good food at decent prices and good views across the mountain slopes

We visited The Mountain Cafe on a recent holiday because we were staying locally and we had read such good reviews. Luckily, we did not have to queue for a table and our waitress was extremely pleasant. The food was good, my partner's soup and baguette were tasty and the ingredients of my 'veggie' baguette were beautifully fresh. A slight... More
