We use some of Scotland's best local produce to create healthy, wholesome & interesting food with a Kiwi twist. We opened our doors in 2004 and have been gaining awards and accolades for our antipodean style coffees, delicious breakfasts, superb lunches & fresh home baking ever since. Our service is friendly & casual with a professional team from all over the world. The café offers excellent views of the Cairngorm Mountains - enjoy our balcony area during summer and the cosy log burner to sit by during the winter months. All the pictures are of our food - why not come in and sample our hospitality when you are in the area next?

The Mountain Cafe is my "go-to" lunch venue in Aviemore. I've been countless times and have never been disappointed. It is always busy and if no tables are free you are invited to wait on the stairs for one...I would say it is always worth waiting. The soup, scones, coffee & cakes are all fantastic. I generally go for the... More

Having tried to get in many times over the years we finally cracked it for a coffee and cakes. No idea what lunch menu is like (though would like to find out) but the array of cakes was superb. Hope we get in again!

Love this place and always visit when we are in Aviemore. Food freshly made so there can be a wait, but it is worth it. Superb allergens menu and as a coeliac I have a huge choice of gluten free options that are delicious. Coffee very good too. There will inevitably be queues on the stairs but don't let this... More

We have to come here every trip to aviemore for cakes. Brilliant choice and all are fantastic. Huge portions though. If it's busy at peak times skip past the q and get carry out cake and eat in the sunshine!

Loved our breakfast here, gluten free options available, lovely view . Staff were really nice and informative regarding our gluten free options and the little shop in there sold some nice little gifts too.

It is well decorated and the food when it arrives looks amazing. However, the food we had didn't taste that amazing, it was average and was really overpriced- almost £30 for two adults and one child to have pancakes. It is also a really small space, so it was busy and felt too crowded. Overall, just wasn't impressed by this... More
