Huge portions

The take away fish & chips were very good indeed. Huge haddock with crispy batter and nice chunky chips.

Everything tastes the same, fried! If you like the taste of chip fat then you will have a field day. Also note that no one in Aviemore delivers. You need to arrange a taxi to collect your food and bring it to you. Yes we ended up calling the food in, then calling the taxi and getting it delivered for... More

The staff are friendly and the service is not bad. We had a take - away of fish and chips and chicken and chips. Both meals had quite large portion sizes, albeit large because of the amount of batter. The fish was tasty and good and the chips were just average. Unfortunately the chicken was just a big mass of... More

What a cracking wee place. Friendly staff, grand service and very decent food. Quirky decor adds to the experience. Free WiFi is always a bonus.

Rarely do I dislike food, particularly when I am really hungry. However I was not massively impressed with the Happy Haggis- the breakfast was pretty shoddy with a sausage which was pure fat (the cheapest as most undercooked sausages) the black pudding has put me off of it for life :( and the bacon wasn't very nice either- I hate... We had just finished a very pleasant Winter walk around the loch and were craving fish and chips. Driving into Aviemore we came across this restaurant. It is basically a fish and chip shop with seating. It was dated and expensive for what you were getting. We wish that we had just driven a little further into Aviemore for some... More

I expect this place is very good for families. I met a friend there and had an amazing piece of fish. The chips were mediocre but the kids menus looked good for the price.

I don't think I am hard to please when it comes to fish and chips, it is a simple formula - the fish should be fairly fresh, the batter fairly crispy and the food not be saturated in oil. It was to my great dismay that tonight's impromptu meal at the Happy Haggis failed dismally on two from three. Not... More

What a pleasant surprise that this fish and chips shop is licensed. Very nice to have a chilled glass of dry white wine with a fish dish. Sadly the fish was a little bit of a letdown. Once the batter was opened, the fish looked and tasted dry. 5* for bring licensed but only 3* for food.
