Still A Good Solid Fish & Chip Shop

I have been going to Smiffy's for over 30 years. It has had its ups and downs but right now it seems to be on an up. On balance I think it is a little expensive

We were very hungry and looking forward to a simple fish supper but unfortunately we were disappointed. First of all the portions are very small for a chippy so if you're really hungry you will not be satisfied. You get one small piece of fish and a tiny portion of chips. The chips were greasy and soggy. The fish did... More

Quite often stop here for a sausage supper, all fine but sometimes have to wait a while for the food to be cooked...usually fairly quiet then though.

Haddock and chips were a disgrace never seem so much grease on a plate! Batter soggy, chips reheated! Kids meals were either deep fried pizza or when we ordered 1 measly sausage in a sea of chips!! Avoid at all costs over priced a poor quality!

Tolerable service but poor, bad tasting and overpriced food. Avoid if in the area. Takes greasy chipshop to a new level.
