Have been going to Smiffy's on our annual holiday for many years now. Back again this year and the usual Special Fish supper we always have was very nicely cooked as usual. The rolls and butter weren't up to much though - they have changed from the usual nice bread to basic hamburger baps! However the fish and chips were... More

We come up every year and our 1st stop used to be here! I say used to be. 8.40pm Saturday 18th October just off the train. The greeting was " we've stopped frying that all it's left" which was white, black and red puddings an 2 sausages and no way were we getting anything else. The chips had also been... More

it's just ashame that on my part it's 9 hours away from where I live, haha. The food is brilliant, the price is right, the customer service was welcoming. The haddock was beautiful.. the chips were tasty (not dripping with grease) Battered haggis, battered pizza... the only thing is.. no battered Mars bar. I could live of their food!! "I'll... More

Loved the fish and chips. Didn't like the fact that we were sitting in and they served all the takeaway people first although our order was in first.

Went in on a Sunday evening; not too crowded. The dining area could definitely use improvements, but sufficed. We got the Haddock & Chips (£6,95). Fish (one large piece, one small) was very greasy and batter crumbled off, making things quite messy. I was a bit put off by the asking of 25p for each Ketchup packet. Chips were outstanding,... I had to wait almost 20 mins for 2 fish suppers, 2 sausage suppers and a king rib. Unfortunately they forgot to put the king rib in the fryer, but more disappointingly, they didn't bother to tell me. I only knew because I overheard the staff talking about it and saw several customers that had been served after me walking... More

This was a good stop for a quick meal. Prices reasonable, just know that everything is ala cart and extra charge, including sauces and water. Decent place with outdoor seating looking around straight towards main Grampian road

Great fish and chips, but paper pates and plastic cutlery let it down. Service is good though and the quality of the fish is excellent.
