Visited here with two of my daughters. Waited an hour and twenty minutes for food and it never arrived! Cancelled our order and left. No apology. Nobody seemed bothered. Shockingly bad.

Visited here on Friday 5th April, this was our third visit in 18 months, as an optimist I usually look on the up side of things, hoping the poor experiences in the past will have improved on a return visit, oops wrong again, first the good points, the pub is in a good location, ambiance is good and not too... Big portions of pub grub, relaxed atmosphere in busy establishment. Good place to meet friends after work.

It had been a couple of years since my last visit to Universal but I wasn't expecting such a massive deterioration. Previously it was renowned for it's large portions, reasonable prices & fast service but that has all disappeared. I was there on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend & my daughter and there were only another 3 tables occupied so... More

The food here is not cheap and is very, very bland. I had some chicken with roast veg and Cous Cous..no seasoning, no spices, no herbs....the 'chef ' should go back to school

My 2 friends and I had a 45 minute wait for our dinner order and when it arrived the portion of haggis, neeps and tatties was so small I thought that we had been served the starter version by mistake. We asked the staff to check, and they simply confirmed that it was the main course. When we pointed out... More

Sweet wee pub my two young girls, my wife and myself stumbled across whilst shopping on Buchanan Street - warm, friendly atmosphere from a beautiful old bar with lovely staff who took great care of my family. The food was excellent, great choice and great value! We have been back regularly and have never been disappointed, would highly recommend to... More

I have eaten here in the past & been pleased with my meal, but never again. Service & staff are fine but on ordering traditional fish tea I was presented with fish with thick soggy undercooked batter, the chips were a cross between potato wedges & chips, the bread was thick & un buttered, no pickled onion & the mushy...
