We ventured in the door to see if it looked like a nice place for dinner and were won over instantly. It was a bit crowded but upstairs we were quickly greeted and offered a table for two by the window, ahead of a booking for later that night. We started with Scottish fish (sharing the small between two) and... more

I can't speak highly enough about my experience at this restaurant. Two courses of superbly cooked food, generous portions, hugely impressive open-plan building, intimate and romantic atmosphere... all for £10. All you need to do is get there before 7pm. My only criticism would be that the service wasn't particularly great. All in all though, I could eat here every... more

The whole place is stunning, from the bar downstairs to the lovely restaurant with terrace. I visited after it being recommended by a friend. The service was very good and the food was excellent with generous portions. My friend even suggested we may have found one of the best restaurants in Glasgow. more

I was at Citation last Saturday after few drinks at Metropolitan (amazing cocktails by the way), the bar was so busy and all the areas were buzzing with good groups of people. The service at the bar was quick and smooth; we had one more round and than up to the restaurant. The staff smiling greeted us and addressed to... more

We had our lunch at Citation a few weeks ago during a shopping trip in Glasgow and as a result of a lovely experience decided that we would return soon for dinner. We returned last night for our dinner - the service was fast and friendly and the meal delicious. I couldn't fault a thing. I had been looking forward... more

We decided to dine at Citation after seeking advice from tripadvisor when visiting Glasgow for the International Piping Festival. The restaurant on arrival was very busy and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. When sitting in this space you cant help yourself consistently looking around to take in the truly wonderful features in this stunning dining room. We had booked... more

After a pleasant day shopping mid-week with my friend we decided to round off our day with a meal in the Merchant City. My friend (quite a foodie!) was desperate to go to Citation as she had been a few times before and raved about the food. We arrived about 6 o'clock and sat upstairs in the restaurant. First impressions... more

I was looking for somewhere romantic to take my partner for the last night of a hitherto wonderful holiday in Scotland. So I duly consulted the trip advisor to see what were the best restaurants in Glasgow and decided in Citation because of its glowing reviews. While the decor was nice, the place felt completely like a pub, no real... more

Currently, two courses and a glass of wine for under a tenner in the pre-theatre menu. Food was lovely - fresh and tasty - and incredible value. Very friendly and efficient service. Lovely surroundings too, particularly sitting out on the first floor terrace on a sunny day. Centrally located in the Merchant city area. more
