The Michael Caines restaurant is no longer in the hotel although it still appears in the advertising for the hotel. This was a disappointment as it was one of the reasons we chose to stay there.

Having read the reviews we were expecting something special. What we got was a really expensive disappointment. The food was poor and the noise was so loud you could not hear each other speak. When I re-read the reviews afterwards I notice the last entry was June 2010 and I can only surmise that those chefs have all left and... More

Rather an austere room with a limited menu. Perhaps I chose badly but did not enjoy my meal with a rather bland crab tart and rather tough beef but my husband who had different choices felt that his food was good. I thought the prices were very high for the quality and quantity and was totally astounded by the cheese... More

Went to Michael Caines a few Fridays ago, it was fantastic! We had the tasting menu and concluded that every plate was better than the last. Service is outstanding yet understated. My personal favourites were the crab cannelloni with langostines, beef fillet with smoked cheese mash and the hot salted caramel fondant - words cannot describe. I would say it... More

I eat out regularly and thought this compared very well to the other excellent restaurant i have dined in. some people eat out to criticise, but i eat out to enjoy the food, wine and company. i would recommend Michael Caines at the Abode highly. we eat on the amazing grazing menu and thought it was excellent value for money... Full on a dark, damp Glasgow Wednesday evening tells you how good this place is, you really need to book. Had to have the tasting menu to try as much as possible, and wasn't disappointed - crab canneloni, duck breast, halibut, pigeon, cheeses, pineapple dessert - every mouthful a delight. The manager/maitre d' (Alan) deserves a special mention (and a... More

My boyfriend and I dined here on Saturday 5th September. We booked through the website a week before and booked for the amazing grazing, 3 courses matched with wine for £19.95, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were brought the menu and werent informed that this offer was no longer available, I asked if it was still on after... Went back to Michael Caines after a wonderful experience in May. This time was very disappointed - we arrived to be told that the Amazing Grazing menu which was advertised on their website with 3 matched glasses of wine was no longer available - although still on their website the next day. Was told that this was due to licensing... More

Staff were the best, friendly and helpful, but respected your privacy and left you to dine if you wanted. The food was excellent, spot on perfect! Dining room lovely, clean and modern and VERY chilled out, nice lighting and relaxing music. Quite expensive - around £40 per person, but you won't regret the food, it's great... :o) Truly, a fantastic... More

Fine cuisine, excellent service, nice environment. A little bit pricey, but they have the right according to their quality. I would advise to make the reservation, but you can come and have a table without problems (as we did).
