Classic 70s design with super service and packed to the gunnels

Lordy - it is not often you hear lasagne and Irn Bru ordered. Here it is part of the heritage. A classic of the. 70s with round cocktail bar and colour-ways to match, the restaurant is just what you need for a hearty, good value business lunch. Salad was hard to order, but sans Irn Bru the... read more

Went here for lunch a few days ago with my mum and was pretty happy overall with the experience. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming which made for a nice atmosphere. The food was really good.... my mum said the minestrone soup was particularly good! We had a pizza and spaghetti too and the spaghetti was great, I... More

A beautiful little Italian restaurant with great service and very good food. I opted for the Arancini Balls and the Boar..The Arancini Balls were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside the Boar was very tender and tasty. . I thoroughly enjoyed my meal which was well presented with excellent service

To be honest, I must have walked past this restaurant 100 times and only booked a table primarily for location. What a good find. The atmosphere was great, we were served promptly by friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh hot and tasty and good value for money. However the Panacotta was heavenly, vanilla and raspberry. Only comment would... More

Very pleasant and warm welcome after walking in from the pouring rain. Good value for a quick two course lunch. Waiter was pleasant and had good sense of humour. Food was tasty, hot and large portions too.

I've not visited O Sole Mio in about 4 years. No reason just haven't been near by. I wasn't dissapointed the food lived up to my high memories! Was spot on. The cost was reasonable. The restaurant has been decorated and modernised since my last visit which takes away from it for me, but it's still lovely! One of my... More

Have been here before and loved the lunch we had, however I came alone for breakfast & was sorely disappointed in the Eggs Benedict, almost non existent hollandaise sauce which was a watery strangeness on the plate with no taste whatsoever, and bacon instead of Parma ham, in an Italian restaurant? Disappointing. That's my score for their eggs benedict, however... More

Loved this cosy, crowded and warm restaurant. The food was very good but I hate to say my seafood risotto was overdone - I hadn't the heart to complain because the staff were fabulous - so attentive and friendly - I will return

Decided to try this Italian restaurant at the last minute. Not many people in the restaurant but this was to be expected on a cold Tuesday night! We were greeted by two very nice waitresses who were very attentive and extremely pleasant. Unfortunately the atmosphere created by the gentleman who I assume was the manager/owner left a lot to be... More
