Superb food served with a smile.

My fiancé's mother had her birthday party last week in the wee room at the back in mitchell's. There were 13 of us and the staff were extremely helpful and always had a smile as well as taking great care to ensure that we were all happy. Always a pleasure to visit Mitchells as menu is changed regularly and the food is tops. Plenty of variety and reasonable prices, good wines by glass or bottle and Scottish flavours favoured. Haggis to start and venison casserole was rich in flavour, sea bass perfect, Mexican chicken and pork dish all got thumbs up and water and wine superb. Busy... More

Starters only ok. The waiter had to go and ask what the soup was. The broccoli soup sounded nice but was actually quite watery and the rollmop was tiny on top of some potato salad. Not even a full piece. Main courses were pretty good although I was disappointed that the chips with the steaks weren't even hand cut but... More

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, really friendly staff and the food was excellent. Think a few family members joined the mailing list afterwards.

We had a late Sunday lunch which was lovely. Everyone in our party had something different and we all loved it. There is a huge choice. The service is great too. We will definitely return.

Was give £50 vouchers as a Christmas present so used them tonight. The food was ok nothing special! Food was overpriced for what they offered. The ambiance was lacking and the young waitress who served us, twice nearly stabbed my husband with a knife when she cleared the table. All in all....would we go back? No. Would I recommend? No!... Tucked nicely away in Carmunnock, this little restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. The ambiance is cosy and friendly and I will definitely be returning soon. I would recommend booking a table before arriving as it is quite a small popular restaurant and all the tables were occupied during my... More

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and always found it to be a most enjoyable experience. Last visited with my hubby on a 'date night'. From entrance to exit it was truly lovely. For starters we had the pate, (usual high standard) and the 'tian of crab' (refreshing and flavoursome). We both opted for the steak and were... More

The food was perfect and could not be faulted in the slightest and would alone warrant a 5 star rating. The main issues faced were with the staff. All staff members seemed knowledgeable and helpful, however the young girl serving us was awful. Looked unhappy in her job. Had to ask for drinks even though she'd attended the table. It... More
