Organised trip to the excellent Art Galleries and Museum around this restaurant just across the road. Apart from being given the wrong bill at twice the price, correct bill was very very reasonable - even usually overpriced water was only £2.50 a litre. Portions were good and quality of chicken was very good and not dry as so often in... more

Had four things from the "tapas" style menu, and a beer. All the food arrived quickly and all of seemed to have been flash fried/cooked with what tasted like virtually raw, fierce spices. Cue another beer. Obviously this is a quick in-and-out-the-customers place as far as the staff are concerned, but Indian food is always better when the food has... more

Saw the reviews and couldn't wait to eat at the Mother India Cafe. Arrived in Glasgow from East Midlands Airport, settled in at the Marriott Hotel and then £4 cab ride to eat. Loved the idea of tapas as when there are only 2 of you at a restaurant normally you can't have a wide selection. So for us the... more

One of our favourite places to eat authentic Indian cuisine in Glasgow. The menu allows the ordering of several small dishes rather than the more traditional layout of starters and main courses. The setting is relaxed, the service always good. Very reasonably priced. more

Opposite the Kelvingrove Art Gallery on Argyll Street, this is a fast service Indian Tapas Bar which feels unique and different to most other Indian Restaurants. Really great selection of dishes, you can have about 4 or 5 without getting too full. Quality of ingredients and dishes were excellent, service was very quick and you are made to feel a... more

Consistently good on all counts. Great value, friendly staff and excellant food. We probably go between once and twice a month, and have done for the past 3 years - and have never had anything other than an enjoyable meal. If you dont want to wait in the Glasgow restaurant, then go at a slightly odd time! An early or... more

Mother India is superb so I went along to their offshoot Cafe hoping for a similar experience, albeit tapas would allow me to try more off the menu. Often I've seen queues of people outside waiting to get in showing how popular it is. On my experience there, sadly it was a very McDonald's style affair. The waiters rushed you... more

Visited pretty late on a Friday night, about 10.30pm, got a table no problem. Waiter took our order quickly and food arrived shortly therafter. As we weren't very hungry we just ordered one lamb dish, one chicken dish, one veg dish, popadums, spiced onions and chapatis. Everything was fantastic and portions were enough for two to share. Total bill for... more

Novel approach to eating Indian food, which is normally served up in huge portions that I can't manage to finish. Mother India's Cafe has a tapas menu where you can select several plates to share and every single one of them is delicious...take my word, I've tried everything on the menu! Great service and prices too. Prepare for a wait... more
