We ate at this place in late September 2009. The service was passable but the food was of an unacceptably poor standard. French onion soup was very thin and the calves liver main was overcooked. I could not recommend this place. Go to Urban in St Vincen's Place for an infinitely better experience. more

Visited Two Fat Ladies with my wife. It is a really quaint restaurant with cozy interior and romatic ambience with a view into the kitchen from some tables. The service was great and staff were extremely well versed on the menu and all ingredients. It was here that we had our first experience with Cullen Skink. It was pretty good,... more

I dined here some time back and was provided with a horrifically salty dish which I could not eat. Seemed like there had been some kind of mistake in the kitchen rather than over seasoning. Either way I told the staff her were mortified and hugely grateful that I had told them as they had served the same dish to... more

We had a fabulous meal in this restaurant. It is fairly small, not many tables so I would recommend always booking a table. Service was friendly and attentive but not overly so. Starters and main courses were delicious but the ooh's and ah's were saved for the dessert which was a sharing platter for 2 and consisted of sticky toffee... more

We ate here last Sat night, on recommendation of TA and the hotel we stayed at (Kelvingrove Hotel, Sauchiehall St). I pre-booked for 7pm and we arrived at 6.50 and were prompty seated. Yes it is very cosy and not much room to move. I ordered from the pre-fix menu - 3 courses for £13.50. Butternut squash soup with a... more

I was lucky enough to be treated by my lovely partner to a meal at this restaurant for my birthday. I cannot praise the quality of the food enough (although, in all frankness, it isn't particularly cheap, so good quality fayre is exactly what I expected in this case), and I was strangely comforted by the fact that diners can... more

Dinner for two Americans. Loved the cozy atmosphere. Server was fun and attentive. Food was fabulous, mussels, tuna, desserts-great. On a side note, a very competent wine list as well. more

Visited Blysthwood Wednesday last. Staff were friendly and the food and wine were excellent. Cullen Skink for starters- very good. Main course, wife choose whole sea bass, daughter scallops and blackpudding and fish platter for myself; excellent ! Even found room for pudding and coffees. First time daughter has tried black pudding which is surprising as she comes from Lancashire.... more

If this is anyone's idea of a good seafood restaurant then they really need to get out more. I have been temporarily working in Glasgow for 8 weeks now and went here last saturday as my partner was over from Ireland and I wanted to bring her someone that was well recommended. The table was fine but one of the... more
