Waiting staff very knowledgeable and helpful. It's a great place to go for a casual meal and it's great value for money. I ordered the duck bento box which was delicious and the sushi included was excellent (wish i'd ordered more). Will be recommending to friends and making a return visit very soon :)

...they do not currently serve sashimi or have moochi - a big shame! The rest of the sushi is fresh, well made, served and enjoyable. Our waiter (Glaswegian native not Japanese) is very helpful and knowledgeable. Reasonably priced too, worth a visit.

Was in Glasgow for the Commonwealth games and out looking for somewhere to eat. We came back 3 times. The best Japanese food I have eaten outside of Japan (and not too bad compared to the food I ate in Japan)

No fuss Japanese canteen style eatery. Menu includes ramen soup, tonkatsu and similar staples. It's freshly cooked, good flavours, authentic and inexpensive especially at lunchtime. It did remind me of similar places in Japan.

I had a Bento box and my partner had a pork ton katsu. Both dishes were executed well and the dining experience fine. The service was attentive (they changed my sushi in the bento from cucumber to avocado). I recommend this as a cheap eat.

I've ordered my dinner at Ichiban through justeat.co.uk, thus I did not eat in the restaurante. Food was very good, even if it would have helped to receive chopsticks. It's sad eating sushi with the fork. By the way, food is good, and the size was quite large for a sushi meal. The only disappointing was the >1 hour waiting... More

I ate here recently with someone who is a huge fan of Ichiban, but I was disappointed. There was no atmosphere and the food was nothing special; bordering on bland and not particularly nice, looking as though it had just been dumped on the plate. Portion sizes are huge, granted, so if you have a big appetite you will be... More

I ate here on a Wednesday night and only ordered sushi, as did my boyfriend. As mentioned in previous reviews, it was very bland, and I couldn't manage it all because of this, it was like the salmon and prawns had been washed under the tap to have their flavour removed. Not fresh at all. The sushi from Asda is... More

We come here a fair bit, with friends, with kids, with anybody. Anybody could eat well and enjoy the food here. It's good quality, freshly made, very tasty, and generally pretty healthy stuff. We usually come in before going somehere else as we know we will get well fed without being stuffed or paying a fortune, and won't wait for... More

Been here loads over the past couple of years. Its great for an "everyday" dinner. The food is good and well worth the money. There is a special menu, two courses for £10 (?)
