Lovely meals and atmosphere as always

My friend and I attended this restaurant last night and where not disappointed. Food was delicious and the service was great. Our only complaint was that we found one staff member to be rude and moody but we did not let him dampen our night and assumed he was just having a bad day. Will be... read more

Having never been persuaded to be regulars in a restaurant before, ichiban's affordable but delicious food, swift service and laid back atmosphere has converted us. The katsu curry is lovely and a particular favorite, but the menu offers a selection of sides, soups and sushi as well as an array of noodle dishes. With a very well priced weekday lunch... More

The food in Ichiban is always impeccable. The portions are large, meaning you get excellent value for your money. I can thoroughly recommend the pork katsu curry. The curry had just the right amount of heat without going overboard. My partner had the chicken chilli udon and asked for extra heat and he got what he wanted! As a side... More

We went to Ichiban for my birthday as we wanted to try a Japanese restaurant that we hadn't visited before. We phoned in advance to book but were told that they don't take bookings and the most you would wait to be seated would be 10-15mins. So we headed in and as we walked up the stairs we heard that... Dined here yesterday and was totally underwhelmed. We order squid which was very rubbery in texture, the sushi was distinctly average at best and the noodles we had were gloopy. Service was the best part of the experience, friendly and attentive however this isn't enough to make us want to return.

Not being an expert in Japanese food, I went with a friend. They adored the Katsu curry and suggested that I ordered one of the large noodle soup bowls. What a recommendation! I had the bowl with the tofu, chicken, prawns and fishcake and it was beautifully cooked, I did have fun trying to eat it with the chopsticks provided,... More

A regular haunt for us, usually at lunchtime. Tremendous menu and the food has always been sensational for us. Try the sides! Good choice of drinks. Service is excellent. Can be in and out quick, if you desire. Bang in central Glasgow but easily missed, just down from Modern Art museum. Very highly recommended.

This is a no frills place which serves up fresh, food. Our meal was delicious and I would highly recommend this place for a easy, casual dinner out. If you are looking to get dressed up and have cocktails this is not the place for you.
