Description: The original La Bonne Auberge first opened its doors on Bastille Day in 1975, and it's had something to celebrate ever since. Glasgow's first French-Mediterranean brasserie and Bar, this smart restaurant with its aproned waiters and blackboard menus now has an AA Rosette to confirm what the locals have known all along. Set in the fashionable Theatreland district, this is a feast of Riviera cuisine, with dishes including wild mushroom and leek risotto cake with grilled asparagus.

Husband and I visited this restaurant last night prior to a night at the theatre. This was our first ever visit to this restaurant and we both had an excellent meal. Good sized portions. Staff very friendly. Great value for money. Will certainly make a return visit

Booked in advance as only in glasgow for 3 nights. Met with a lovely greeting and our waiter was really attentive throughout the course if the evening. I won't list the food we had, as it's always down to the individuals taste, but have to say all 3 courses we both had, were of a very high standard, both in... More

Visited at around 530 on a Friday night. Plenty of tables available but started to fill up around 6. Opted for chicken liver pate and salmon as starters which were both fine. The pate suffered because I'd had some incredible stuff only a week or so prior. Pesto pasta and piri piri chicken for mains followed. Again both were pretty... More

Food was fine but, the service was extremely slow, an hour and fifty five minutes for two courses! Given that we were attending a concert at the venue across the street, I did ask the waiter to hurry things along and bring the bill with second course as we were pushed for time due to lamentably slow service, which to... Afternoon tea with 5pm voucher , which was only for 1 person , a bit silly . Sandwiches- ham and tomato were fine but not keen on red raw onion in tuna ones or spring onion in egg mayonnaise.Cakes were all delicious.Service excellent

I booked afternoon tea here for my friend's birthday. Lovely restaurant, that I've been to before. Staff can't do enough for you and so friendly. Afternoon tea was a bit pricey but as a special occasion it was fine. You also got a glass of wine included and asked for hot water to top up tea and also butter and... More

My husband and I popped in on a Sunday eve for dinner . My first choice was unavailable, but I was not disappoint with my second choice of lamb. The portions were perfect and well presented. We ended the evening with a great tasting cup of coffee! Definitely, recommend.

A really busy restaurant situated in the Holiday Inn. We used our taste card which gives a discount on one of the main meals. We were welcomed and our order was taken quickly and the lager arrived but we had to wait for over 45 minutes for the main courses and several tables were being served prior to our table... More

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the food. As you mentioned the restaurant was very busy with guests going to the theatre, and we always recommend them to book from the 'Prix Fixe' menu as that will speed up the service. The dishes from the A la carte menu, do take a little bit longer to prepare. Having... More
