The original La Bonne Auberge first opened its doors on Bastille Day in 1975, and it's had something to celebrate ever since. Glasgow's first French-Mediterranean brasserie and Bar, this smart restaurant with its aproned waiters and blackboard menus now has an AA Rosette to confirm what the locals have known all along. Set in the fashionable Theatreland district, this is a feast of Riviera cuisine.

Another good lunch

Yet another lunch at this restaurant. The food is consistently good with an excellent choice. The service is friendly and helpful and they do not hurry you.

Had an excellent afternoon tea on Saturday Sandwiches were lovely with a small side salad and some potato crisps as garnish. Scones were still warm clotted cream and Strawberry Jam lovely. The selection of cakes were lovely and a perfect size after eating sandwiches and scones nothing left. This is how an afternoon tea should be done. Well done.

Food was very nice but portions not the biggest ideal for first night stay in hotel as convenient. Breakfast was plentiful with loads of choice some items been out a bit too look Haggis and black pudding and were a bit hard. Asked for poached eggs next day and they came with no problems and were nice.

Lovely food & wine, lovely place. Went with a voucher 2 course for £11 & it was worth it. It was a bit pricey though. Thoroughly enjoyed the cheese board complimented with desert wine.

This was a very nice restaurant located quite close to our hotel. Nice decor, friendly and helpful staff. I began with a lovely cheese soufflé , garnished with mushrooms, while my wife enjoyed her butternut squash chowder. We moved on to a nicely prepared hake, with potatoes, spinach, and ravioli (for her), with perfectly prepared venison and bacon/potatoes in a... More

Had a 5 pm voucher for lunch . I didn't like the solitary vegetarian option on the prix fixe menu but the chef made me a very nice risotto. We had 2 courses and coffee for £10 per person . Very nice meal and ambience. Excellent value . Service a bit slow but we were in no hurry. I wouldn't... More

Amazing experience - has to be tried. The selection is fantastic and excellent value for money. Add a bottle of prosecco for a little extra enjoyment.

I asked for vegan options and was offered salad as a starter, salad as a main course and fruit salad as a dessert. To be fair, I could also have had stir fried vegetables (accompanied by what I do not know) or risotto (which I had at home last night). The same price was the same as the fancy meat... More
