Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region. We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour. Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.

Absolutely delicious food, probably among the best Indian food I've ever had. Very delicately spiced and flavoursome, unlike run of the mill Indian restaurant food. Good advice from the staff. The accompanying bread selection was delicious too, and very unusual. The only thing I would say was that the staff approach was a bit workmanlike, and not very cheerful, but... More

Very quiet for a Thursday evening and staff sometimes difficult to attract. Beautiful spice infused food and a wonderful paper dosa to help it along. Everything is cooked to order and there is nothing I wouldn't recommend. We'll be back, again soon!

Indian food is something that can be either authentic or very watered down for a western palate. Dakhin is very authentic. I work with many people from Southern India and finding a restaurant that serves food from their region is quite difficult. Dakhin is such a restaurant. That said, the food I had was fantastic. My group ordered lamb nilgiri... More

This was a Carlsberg curry. The best curry in Glasgow, probably. If you get a chance, buy and enjoy!

I have been here twice now - for dinner and for lunch and I'll be coming back as often as I can. The whole menu is gluten free, which is great for me and it's absolutely phenomenal. Great breads (lentil, chickpea etc), rice, curries, fantastic knowledge and passion from everyone I have met in here and an amazing ambience. You've... More

Was pleasantly surprised as was not sure what to expect, much nicer than your run of the mill Indian restaurant, food was much nicer, less creamy than traditional Indian restaurants, staff were helpful in helping us choose, we had the monkfish curry, jumbo king prawn coconut curry and the chicken korma equivalent which was very nice, with a selection of... Hi Pam W, Thanks for taking the time out of your day to write us such a great review! You really hit the nail on the head with your explanation of Dakhin, we aren't your standard Indian restaurant and sometimes that means we are a little more expensive but we pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our ingredients.... This was our first time at The Dakhin and it certainly won't be the last. We tried wonderful Southern Indian food served by extremely helpful and friendy staff and nothing was a problem. Definitely worth a visit.
