Established in 2004, Dakhin was the first authentic South Indian restaurant in Scotland. Set amidst the centre of Glasgow's Merchant city district, it offers diners a vast array of speciality dishes from India's southern region. We're talking about authentic recipes using fresh natural ingredients from award-winning chefs. Food worth talking about, and a warm dining experience to savour. Dakhin proudly features within the Michelin Guide and comes highly recommended by many food critics. If you are looking for something different from your run of the mill Indian restaurant then you'd best be sure not to miss out.

Unusually outstanding. Not the usual detritus.

This was a Carlsberg curry. The best curry in Glasgow, probably. If you get a chance, buy and enjoy!

I have been here twice now - for dinner and for lunch and I'll be coming back as often as I can. The whole menu is gluten free, which is great for me and it's absolutely phenomenal. Great breads (lentil, chickpea etc), rice, curries, fantastic knowledge and passion from everyone I have met in here and an amazing ambience. You've... More

Was pleasantly surprised as was not sure what to expect, much nicer than your run of the mill Indian restaurant, food was much nicer, less creamy than traditional Indian restaurants, staff were helpful in helping us choose, we had the monkfish curry, jumbo king prawn coconut curry and the chicken korma equivalent which was very nice, with a selection of... Hi Pam W, Thanks for taking the time out of your day to write us such a great review! You really hit the nail on the head with your explanation of Dakhin, we aren't your standard Indian restaurant and sometimes that means we are a little more expensive but we pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our ingredients.... This was our first time at The Dakhin and it certainly won't be the last. We tried wonderful Southern Indian food served by extremely helpful and friendy staff and nothing was a problem. Definitely worth a visit.

prepared nicely, fresh items, lot of flavour, exciting dishes, allergy friendly.. I am very choosy about restaurants and have only 4-5 in my list of best indian restaurants in uk with south indian dishes to visit and this is one of them. they are still areas to improve, but minor compared to overall standards in restaurant business.

My spouse and I had the fixed price lunch special during our visit to Glasgow in June 2015. Service was good. Food was flavorful but could have been spicier (hotter).

Dakhin is a South Indian restaurant in Merchant City, Glasgow. The restaurant is located in one of the small lanes which makeup the area, and we nearly missed it, The food here is ok but extremely pricey for the location. A Masala Dosa (Indian Pan Crepe with potato filling) costs nearly £14. We have had the same item in various... More

Hi MAFuggawala, Thank you for the review. "Too Costly for the items being served” - I can't say this review is entirely justified for the following reasons - The Merchant City area of Glasgow is one of the most premium areas in town for eating out, we are surrounded by great restaurants with long-standing reputations like ourselves, for example Gandolfi,... We went recently using their pre theatre 50% off mains deal. We had never heard of most of the dishes on the menu but that was the interesting bit, trying different types of food.
