Dakhin restaurant in Glasgow is another head boy from the class act who brought you Dhabba. Authentic South Indian cuisine is the focus in this Merchant City destination decorated in the modern casual vernacular: sleek lines with splashes of vibrant colour. The menu features dishes without weird colourings and slicks of oil, dishes where complex flavours shine through. The specialty is dosa, thin crepes of rice and lentils stuffed with irresistible fillings, though the emphasis on vegetarian and basmatic dishes is excellent, too. The three-course thali lunch deal and the pre-theatre offer are a steal. Award-winning cuisine in a bright, modern setting – great for quick lunches and easy dinners

Dined here last week. Got the 5pm deal which gives you 50% off mains. The food is simply awesome and the service is very good! Restaurant has recently been renovated and makes for pleasant dining atmosphere! Highly recommend to couples, groups and business dinners! South Indian food isn't the "norm" for an "Indian meal" but it's 100% a must-try!!!!!! We'll... More

The restaurant was recommended to us so we had some big expectations; however they weren't really delivered. We're not Indian food lovers and we just wanted to give it another try so commenting on food wouldn't be fair (we still don't like the cuisine!), however we were also disappointed with service - it was early Thursday night and there were... Having been to it's sister restaurant - The Dhabba - on several occasions and loved it, we (3 males) were so looking forward to our pre-booked visit. Arrived at 8pm on a Saturday night. It was busy but not every table was taken. We ordered drinks, starters and mains and thoroughly enjoyed our starters when they arrived. However after that... More

First time here and found the food delicious and authentic, and for this reason we will be back. The Mysore Masala Dosa was lovely and the accompanying sambar and coconut chutney were perfect. The portion sizes were pretty big and just enough. However, I do think the food is overpriced. We had a 50% reduction on the main course meals... More

Having walked past the entrance to The Dakhin and dismissed going there, I then read a very informative review and booked a table. The entrance at street level could put people off (as we were), but when you arrive in the restaurant on the first floor, it is very different. A busy Saturday night didn't detract from the quality of... More

This is a really good Southern Indian restaurant. The range of the dishes is excellent and the quality of the food is very, very good. This is really good Indian food and not to be confused with a "normal curry house" - brilliant!

Chose this restaurant for a family get-together recently. We weren't disappointed - fantastic variety of delicious, freshly cooked food (and plenty of it). Staff were attentive and helpful but didn't 'hover' as can happen today in many restaurants. A great time was had by all.

We liked the variety of menu and the fact that there were a number of fish dishes. The food was well presented and tasty but service was a little slow. The mixed starter was really good, particularly the haddock and the mushrooms. If you have the whole sea bream, you can choose a sauce, which is a welcome touch. Wouldn't... More

The Dakhin is South Indian perfection. I had a salmon dish, Meen Rost, which was fantastic and the two feet long paper dosa is a must. Can't wait to go back. Service was also brilliant. Go, you won't regret it. Unless you hate real Indian food.

Have eaten in more Indian restaurants than I care to remember , but this is in my top 3 , the food was so fresh and clean in taste , the staff were excellent in helping choose different sauces to accompany the food , but the main difference was the menu , totally unlike every other Indian in Glasgow.
