Description: Dakhin restaurant in Glasgow is another head boy from the class act who brought you Dhabba. Authentic South Indian cuisine is the focus in this Merchant City destination decorated in the modern casual vernacular: sleek lines with splashes of vibrant colour. The menu features dishes without weird colourings and slicks of oil, dishes where complex flavours shine through. The specialty is dosa, thin crepes of rice and lentils stuffed with irresistible fillings, though the emphasis on vegetarian and basmatic dishes is excellent, too. The three-course thali lunch deal and the pre-theatre offer are a steal. Award-winning cuisine in a bright, modern setting – great for quick lunches and easy dinners

Dakhin is situated in the trendy part of Glasgow so is ideal for a pre/post beer or three! The menu consists of southern Indian dishes which are a nice change to our most loved Bangladeshi run Indian restaurant food. For starters I had a spicy lamb dish which was very nice! The lamb was tender and the spice was well... More

Fantastic restaurant situated in the heart of the Merchant City. The Dosa bread is phenomenal and worth every penny as it is about 3ft long. The staff are always really helpful and friendly and the decor and atmosphere are excellent. Will be back.

It was ok but for the price I paid I was expecting a bit more. The most disappointing thing was that my food was marked on the menu as not spicy but instead it was spicy and my husband's food was marked as medium spiced and was instead really really hot. And my husband can handle very hot food so... More

Very good South Indian food although dishes are a bit expensive. Service is attentive albeit a bit slow when the restaurant is busy. I can recommend this restaurant.

For those who might review this place and complain about the lack of Tikkas and Naans, which I gather some have, it should perhaps be pointed out that this is a SOUTH INDIAN restaurant. If you want the regular fare then you need a North Indian restaurant and this place has a sister establishment (Dhabba) just across the street for... More

Ignoring any review which compares the usual Indian NOT FROM SOUTH INDIA! to this, because when I eat south indian I expect dosa and idli not nan, korma and hot vindaloo or phal! This restaurant has all the right food, a great atmosphere, it is not expensive and the service is excellent. No complaints. Suggest anybody looking for korma, madras,... More

Really enjoyed lunch here but felt the dishes were a bit mislabeled. Mamsam pepper fry was not spicy as promised, though the avial, listed as mild, was so spicy that my dining partner and I had to switch meals. Dosas and sauces were very fine. Service was good, but it was a slow time.

The title of this review is not intended to be a positive or negative statement, merely a word of caution for those like me who claim to love "Indian" food. I have tried many different Indian dishes in many different cities across the UK and so I decided to give this South Indian restaurant a try to see if it... More

Four of us shared a mixed starter and then we had 5 mains, mixed meat, fish and vegetables. Everything was a different flavour and sauce which was great to dip into and taste. We loved it all, especially the paper dosa! We will be back

What a fantastic find, recommended by a colleague. Food was outstanding, the Monkfish starter was sublime. We had chef recommended mixed starters and mains - absolutely beautiful. The staff could not have done more to be honest, so very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this to anyone visiting, I am sure there are cheaper places around, but in this... More
