Description: Dakhin restaurant in Glasgow is another head boy from the class act who brought you Dhabba. Authentic South Indian cuisine is the focus in this Merchant City destination decorated in the modern casual vernacular: sleek lines with splashes of vibrant colour. The menu features dishes without weird colourings and slicks of oil, dishes where complex flavours shine through. The specialty is dosa, thin crepes of rice and lentils stuffed with irresistible fillings, though the emphasis on vegetarian and basmatic dishes is excellent, too. The three-course thali lunch deal and the pre-theatre offer are a steal. Award-winning cuisine in a bright, modern setting – great for quick lunches and easy dinners

Was recommended this restaurant as it's menu was South Indian and so different to what we're used to. It was delicious. The menu was great, a nice range for all tastes as far as I could see. Plenty of veggie options. They offered to answer any questions about the menu, gave us a decent amount of time between courses. There... More

If you like south Indian food this is the place to go. A superb selection of dhosas for all tastes, as well as some of the more usual Indian dishes. My friends and I all like the vegetable masala dhosa and it didn't disappoint. There was lots of tasty filling with a vegetable broth and dip on the side. I... More

I was not familiar with South Indian food so I really didn't know what to expect. The place is really nice, the staff very friendly, and ready to explain in details the various meals. Not too expensive. Did I mention that the food was excellent?!

I love south Indian food and Dakhin is excellent. Located in the Merchant City but tucked away a little bit upstairs you need to look out for the sign. I've been four or five times over several years and the range and quality has been consistently good. A little bit more expensive that some other Indian restaurants but you get... More

Good range of starters and mains, including some old favourites and some more unusual dishes. Little bit more expensive than standard Indian restaurant but well worth it. Service fast, efficient and friendly.

We go to Dakhin at least once a month and have been for the last 3 years. Pete and the team are incredibly friendly and you always get great service, whether you're a first timer or regular. Literally cannot go wrong with anything on the menu (our over eating out here means we can speak from experience), but one of... More

I guess expectations are a little high but found the food reasonably good .Could be more authentic and spicy but I guess this is due to modifying it to the local tastes. My husband found his chicken biriani good.My prawn biriani was a little mild but the lamb stew was quite nice..just a tad sweet -would have preferred it a little... Superb restaurant, the quality and variety of food is superb and does offer a genuine alternative to the usual Indian fare. Service too is excellent. The cost is higher than many standard Indian restaurants but is well worth the extra.

Friendly informative staff in an open airy room. The food was South Indian with clear description of spices and use of coconut and a selection of rices. Well worth a visit.
