Delicious fish & chips

Have been here on 2 occasions - the first with my grandfather who really struggles with stairs - staff were helpful while I booked to let me know about the elevator etc and were really friendly. Returned again last month & was not disappointed.

Just loved everything about this restaurant. Great menu, good service and absolutely wonderful fish supper. Had smoked salmon and chicken liver pate starters before moving on to the star of the show haddock supper with mushy peas and pickled eggs thrown in. It takes you right back to your childhood. This is how fish and chips should be done.

My wife couldn't believe I had never been so in we went. The staff were all nice. We ordered the Fish Tea. The fish was beautiful, well cooked, the batter crispy and not greasy at all. The chips were good but could have been better. The only wee things that let it down in my opinion were the bread I... More

Doon the lane and up a flight of stairs only to discover the fact that there is a lift, don't know exactly how you get to it as there are no signs at the door !! Fish was a bit greasy chips were good. The wait for food to be served was excessive considering there were only a few tables... More

My husband and I received an Itison voucher to use in this restaurant as a present. We booked it for the High Tea the voucher was for and for the last high tea sitting of 4.30pm. The voucher described it as a fish supper, followed by cakes and choice of tea or coffee. The supper was good enough (could have... More

Lovely place, the fish is always very good and we are regular clients Nice staff and good atmosphere I don't like so much the carton box instead of a plate and don't see the point in eating from a box The fish used to be bigger but they cut down on the size which is slightly disappointing but still very... Went to the Chippy Doon the Lane for dinner. The Fish and chips was freshly cooked and delicious, and the portion size was excellent. Service was very good too. An even better deal using one of the online vouchers from meal deal sites

Went to the Chippy Doon the Lane for dinner. The haddock and chips was freshly cooked and delicious, and the portion size was excellent. Service was very good too. The only negative point was the price of soft drinks, which were well above the average for similar restaurants.

Cooking traditional 'fish suppers', this first floor restaurant is really tucked away down a side street of Glasgow's main shopping haul, Buchanan Street. Choose your battered fish from cod, haddock, plaice, lemon sole and more, add your chips, sauces, bread and butter, battered haggis, order a cocktail - really, what's not to like?
