A great fish and chips restaurant, with great food and service. Off a lane on Buchanan street, and you need to walk by some dumpsters but the food was worth it. We were there for lunch.

I visited the chippy after winning their competition on Facebook. Booking was easy and we went on a Saturday tea time. 3 course meal with drinks for 2. On entering I thought it was very shabby chic and loved it. Only complaint I had was it was far too hot!! Actually felt unwell with the heat and the staff turned... More

My Dad and I have been wanting to come here for ages and I was impressed by reviews. Felt we were in a different place. Ordered haddock n chips with bread n butter and tea. The pros: - pleasant surroundings and staff - big portions (though the 3 of us couldn't finish them) The cons: - fish was tasteless -... More

Visited early evening on a Thursday with an Itison voucher for a fish tea. The portion was really big, too big in fact as I couldn't finish it all and I hate to waste food. My boyfriend also struggled to finish his and he has a good appetite. The chips were nice and the lemon sole was okay but the... More

Went here on a Friday payday lunch time to celebrate a colleague going on maternity leave. It was decidedly average. As we had never been before another colleague and I decided to order the haddock and the southern fried chicken goujons and split them. The fish was crispy on top and greasy underneath. I could have made it better myself.... More

I've lost count the number of times I've visited here. The quality of fish is always high and I love the little cardboard trays. Already planning my next fish supper.

The Chippy Doon The Lane is right in the centre of the shopping area of Glasgow, Just doon the lane from Buchanan Street. We had the special offer which was hake and chips for 2 with pint of lager and a cheeky wee white wine for £18.95. Very good value, well cooked and served by friendly, efficient staff.
