The Chippy Doon The Lane is right in the centre of the shopping area of Glasgow, Just doon the lane from Buchanan Street. We had the special offer which was hake and chips for 2 with pint of lager and a cheeky wee white wine for £18.95. Very good value, well cooked and served by friendly, efficient staff.

Visited with the missus on an itson deal, arrived a bit early but no problem taken to our reserved table. Given a few minutes to choose what type of fish we wanted ( a choice of from five) i chose the haddock and missus the lemon sole, both were plentiful and delicious, best and biggest haddock I've had for years,the... My wife and I visited for the first time although we'd known about the restaurant for a while. We both ordered lemon sole & chips with a bottle of wine followed by coffee. The portions were very generous and absolutely gorgeous and probably the best fish & chips I've eaten in a long time. The service was excellent from start... More

Popped in for a bite to eat after some Thursday night shopping. Was a good meal as always, my friend found hers a little greasy but I really enjoyed mine. Service was the only thing lacking here, having to ask for another glass of wine & dirty plates left infront of us for a long time. This didn't put me... More

We have been to this restaurant on about four occasions and easy time the food is fantastic. We away get the haddock and chips. Not at any time have there been any bones in the fish which is very tasty as is the chips also fresh and hand cut from REAL potato's. The portions are big some if visiting here... More

Had lunch here on Saturday . Approach not very pleasant down a lane. Quite busy although no wait to get a table. Drinks served right away and order taken , we then however had a Long wait for our food. The food however was absolutely lovely. I will certainly return however not if I'm in a hurry .

Found this place through internet search otherwise we would never have known of it. It is tucked away at the back of an alley and as we began to walk up we thought we had the wrong place so keep walking right to the back of the alley , through a door and up the stairs. The staff were very... More

My husband and I were walking and a young man was directing people to this restaurant by handing them an advertisement shaped like a fish. So cute! It was kind of difficult to find and through an alley as we call it. But the food was terrific and atmosphere better. We had 2 Haddock suppers, with hand cut chips, and... More

Lovely environment with delicious food. The whole place has a really nice design. The entrance is hidden away and much bigger inside than you would expect. We ordered 2 fish suppers and a burger, all of which tasted amazing. I would highly recommend and we can't wait to return!

It is down a wee lane just off Buchanan St. We had the special offer Fish Tea and it was lovely.Freshly made food and a good portion, we even got a glass of fizzy wine for just £1.00 each!!
