The Mussel Inn is one of Glasgow’s première restaurants. Despite the name, our restaurant offers a much wider variety of food than just Scottish West Coast mussels served with our unique and delicious range of sauces. Our seafood dishes also include Creamy Seafood Chowder, Grilled King Scallops and Queen Scallops, Scottish oysters, and our amazing seafood platter (Mini Seafood Platter also available).

However this is large, high ceilings and felt a little basic and unfinished. However service was professional yet... read more

I am so sad to be giving this place a 1/5 review. When we lived in Glasgow we visited this place all the time and had some fantastic memories of some great meals. The place looks the same but the food is now unpalatable...

We visited the Mussel Inn having had fantastic experiences some years previously. We had to wait quite a while for a table, which was fine given we had made no reservation. However, the hostess continued to tell us that our table would be ready in a few minutes, but was not actually ready for almost 40 minutes. The service was... More

I'm guessing there are a LOT of dining options in Glasgow! We are appreciative of the Trip Advisor guidance to try out this restaurant conveniently located in the heart of the city. We were not disappointed. Of course, we had to try some mussels! It was difficult to decide which one of the many options to try (including their several... More

Probably the best seafood restaurant in Glasgow. I like it very much. With 5pm offer wasn't very expensive. Nice food and huge choice of different kind of seafood. If you don't like seafood, they have basic meat or vegetarian menu. I strongly recommend this place. There were only two waitresses, but for such small amount the service was very fast.... More

We ate here twice and really enjoyed everything. It is a sleek clean restaurant and they put the daily specials on a blackboard. They have the best bread and their soup is really good plus the portion is generous. My husband really enjoyed the mussels the first time we ate here and couldn't wait to go back again. I tried... We were loaded with luggage en route to the airport but this restaurant was handy for the airport shuttle bus and Central Station. The opening times are not as shown on their website at the time we visited: service starts at 17.30. Enjoyed a well cooked meal from the pre-theatre menu, including chowder which eclipsed any we had in Canada... More

Had a wonderful meal here the queen scallops with black pudding was tasty to start, mussels with blue cheese sauce warm crusty bread and some of the best chips I've ever had for main was fresh and delicious. To end the meal the warm sticky date pudding is a must have. The staff are also friendly, attentive and a great... More

I was really disappointed after visiting the Mussel Inn… disappointed that there isn’t one in England! After hearing great things about the one in Edinburgh decided to try the Glasgow restaurant on a recent trip. Really glad we did. Service was great, really helpful and friendly and the food was out of this world. I had a lovely scallops and... More

I was at the Mussel Inn last night for dinner. Food was fresh, tasty and hot! Servers were courteous and very responsive and friendly. Why not a 5? With my food there was that special 'zing' to take me to eating heaven. But based on how people were devouring mussels around me (which I didn't have) that may be were... More
