The Mussel Inn is one of Glasgow’s première restaurants. Despite the name, our restaurant offers a much wider variety of food than just Scottish West Coast mussels served with our unique and delicious range of sauces. Our seafood dishes also include Creamy Seafood Chowder, Grilled King Scallops and Queen Scallops, Scottish oysters, and our amazing seafood platter (Mini Seafood Platter also available).

Sunday lunch without the Yorkshire pud

Excellent shellfish and fish (well what would you expect ;) great chips, good bread too. Reasonable selection of wines. Fresh flavours (almost too healthy). Large attractive dining room, perhaps too large, the mezzanine area never seems to be used. Staff are friendly and efficient. Could do... read more

We arrived a couple of minutes early for our booking to find people sitting waiting for tables. We were asked to sit with them while our table was prepared. We waited for 15 minutes before being shown to a table that I had seen in my eye-line the entire time that we had been sitting waiting, empty and ready to... More

I like the Mussel Inn, the food is good and always hits the mark but the service can be really hit or miss, which lets them down. Staff seem to be quite abrupt on a few occasions. Must try the scallops and black pudding starter though!

Dined here for my birthday night out as its one of my favourite restaurants. Booked on the Web site & it stated the booking is not confirmed until the restaurant contacts you. I never received a call to confirm my booking. This was a pain & unprofessional of the restaurant. As a mother to a 7 week old baby I... More

This was a visit with a business colleague after a hard day. Great chowder and a fish stew, glass of wine for £25. Each. Service was slightly pushy, but helpful and attentive. Worth another visit to try some of the traditional or exotic mussels!

I visit this restaurant fairly often and would encourage anyone who loves Scottish mussels to visit. This isn't a swanky eaterie; there ain't no table cloths and it is a bit noisy, but I don't mind that one bit. The focus is simply cooked and gorgeous seafood. I think it is great that the source of the Mussels cooked that... More

I recently went to the mussel inn with my wife after she hassled me for years about going. We phoned up to book a table and on 4 occasions it rang out and went to answer machine. As I needed an answer I kept trying eventually someone answered and we got a booking. We arrived and was welcomed nicely and... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant Friday 3rd on our two night stay in Glasgow. Outstanding experience from friendly helpful staff to the meal which was superb. We would very much recommend this restaurant.

Ok, you might not get the most peaceful and tidy surroundings here, and the service is a little slow because of a lack of staff, but the food is first class. Obviously the mussels are top end but all of the other dishes are great and the preparation area is visible from most seats, so you can see them working... More
