The Mussel Inn is one of Glasgow’s première restaurants. Despite the name, our restaurant offers a much wider variety of food than just Scottish West Coast mussels served with our unique and delicious range of sauces. Our seafood dishes also include Creamy Seafood Chowder, Grilled King Scallops and Queen Scallops, Scottish oysters, and our amazing seafood platter (Mini Seafood Platter also available).

Great seafood, excellent service

Slightly spartan environment, but friendly helpful staff and genuinely good food. Queenie starter with black pudding was enjoyable but not quite enough. 0.5 kilo Moroccan mussels main was a (large!) interesting experiment - I'm a fan of Thai. The African variant works too! Good value prices.

We fell on The Mussel Inn by accident but liked the look of it and went in. If you like seafood then this is a definite. The place is really inviting, bright and spotlessly clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the menu is great. There is a specials board too. The whitebait starter I had was lovely... More

I went to Mussel Inn in Edinburgh last year and I had one of my favorite meal ever! I went again here in Glasgow but I had to say I was treated differently. It was a weekly night, not busy at all but they had almost nothing on he menu. We were kinda forced to order what they told us.... More

First visit and certainly not the last. I was in Scotland for Celtic Connections and Burns Night and as I was on my own and love seafood I thought I would give this restaurant a try in view of other good reviews. The sea food chowder was an excellent start. I have enjoyed chowder in Boston and Maine where it... More

I was looking forward to my visit and was disappointed . Dont get a seat at the window on a cold night l had to ask to move . The chowder as chowder goes was less than average , seafood platter not very good . No draft beer and bottled beer over priced . The girl who welcomed us in... More

Managed to off load kids so just my wife and I. Food was excellent, I had scallops which were outstanding. Main was a kilo of mussels in the daily special sauce. Girl who served was great, very attentive and would pop over every now and again to top up wine and make sure everything was okay. For 2 starters, 2... More

Passed by in the car when arriving in the city. Searched it out for dinner and I am really pleased I did. Wonderful food, excellent service. And very good value!

The atmosphere is great, a nice mix of somewhat casual but classy. I would recommend getting a reservation, as we had a bit of a wait. This was hands-down the the freshest fish I've had here, and the best mussels I've eaten (and I've eaten quite a few all over the world). Highly recommended.

I was a regular customer in the Edinburgh branch for years and when I moved back to Glasgow was delighted to see another branch. Simply the best mussels anywhere. Lunchtime deals are great value and the service is always attentive, friendly and natural, they really do have great staff.
