Description: The Mussel Inn is one of Glasgow’s première restaurants. Despite the name, our restaurant offers a much wider variety of food than just Scottish West Coast mussels served with our unique and delicious range of sauces. Our seafood dishes also include Creamy Seafood Chowder, Grilled King Scallops and Queen Scallops, Scottish oysters, and our amazing seafood platter (Mini Seafood Platter also available).

Entered the restaurant on a Sat night, to be met by the manageress- excellent and warm welcome. She soon found us a table. She was just what a manager should be - helpful, courteous and not in your face. The rest of the staff were good and efficient. As for the food - that was excellent too! A great experience... More

Ate here on a Thursday evening as a group of 3. The place was pretty busy. Booked online with no hassle. Starters: we had piri piri prawns, tempura prawn special and mussel platter. All very tasty. Only gripe would be I could have ate more prawns but I generally find that with prawn starters, maybe I'm greedy! Free bread available... More

We were here recently, having not been for a while. The food was good but not quite up to the standard we've had before. Some of the chips, which looked perfectly cooked, were somehow hard and crumbly in the middle and there were a couple of stringy/closed mussels which we haven't experienced before. Most of the waiting staff were friendly... More

This is an excellent fish restaurant serving interesting dishes using quality ingredients. Friendly well trained staff, an open kitchen and a relaxing atmosphere together with excellent food - we returned the following evening! Both occasions were excellent - well done!

This review is written after four visits to Mussel Inn in 2 weeks and I must honestly say all my friends were happy with the food. The oysters have always been fresh and so are the mussels. I recommend the mussels cooked in Moroccan gravy, and if you have a big group then order the mussels in half kilo pots... More

Went for a birthday celebration, booked ahead as heard it was very popular and easy to see why. Slightly disappointed with the starter of fishcakes, sauce was rather bland, partner had the chowder which was throughly enjoyable. Just the right amount of time between the starters and mains (sometimes can feel a tad rushed) had the surf and turf with... More

i liked the concept of "mussels by the kilo" with 5 different sauces to choose from. the mussels were tasty (i had mine in the shallot, wine/cream sauce), as was the salad i ordered. i also tried the whitebait which i also enjoyed very much. the daily special of sea bream looked very nice at the neighboring table. the service... Had nice meal food was good but i had oysters as starter and had food poisoning after, then again that is the risk of having raw oysters anyway. Staff was nice although very busy.

We went during the Commonwealth Games and had rather a theatrical performance to get a table. Much scratching of the head and walking up and down by the head waiter. He did give us one of the many empty tables many of which stayed vacant during our time in the restaurant! The food was excellent and almost deserved five stars,... More
