Description: "In the lively, bohemian Port of Leith, Malmaison Brasserie reigns supreme as a superlative place to meet and eat. The highly chic Art Nouveau French brasserie has sleek, stylish decor and actual port views. The staff are passionate about food, wine and service, and the dining room is lit with that brasserie buzz. Malmaison Executive Chef, Roy Brett has overall direction. What's cooking? Inspiration is taken from great 'French brasserie-style dishes' and further enhanced with a unique contemporary twist. Dishes include char-grilled ribeye with cafe de paris butter and fine beans and salmon fishcake with parsley sauce and buttered spinach. For those of you with a sweet tooth, be sure to try the tarte tartin with creme chantilly. "

Although its been around for years there is nothing worn or complacent about the Malmaison Brasserie in Glasgow. I met five business acquaintances for lunch and everything, the staff, the surroundings the service and of course the food were all great. When you need quality, value and an experience that won't let you down I would thoroughly recommend this excellent... More

The Mal big lunch is an experience not to be missed. We bought a deal with champagne on 5pm however the £19.99 price tag for four courses is good value. The staff are first class and the food is tasty and plentiful. We had a relaxing afternoon eating, drinking and chatting. Get your friends together and chill out for an... More

Limited menu but excellent food - service very good. Only drawback is 10% service charge added to bill.

Dined here the first evening of our stay. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Although we ate at 7.30 we were also offered the alternative early meal menu. I had the salad off the main menu after I asked if I could have blue cheese instead of goats cheese. This was delicious and then followed by the fish special... More

Was taken to Sunday lunch for Fathers Day and had excellent lunch for £20, not that I was paying! The Sunday three course lunch is great value with multiple choices for each course and no pressure to finish your meal, there is also a chief on hand to make pancakes, waffles etc. Staff very attentive and pleasant, restaurant roomy and... We visited as a party of 10 during May, celebrating a 60th birthday and we sat at a nicely presented table with reasonable comfort and good spacing. It was Saturday, and a busy Glasgow night, but the staff were helpful and agreeably humourful, taking photos, food orders with good timing. The food was generally rather good - some of the... More

The restaurant is located in a dark, damp cellar with loud music which does lend to enjoying a nice dinner. Presented with an ala carte menu, a prize fix menu and blackboard specials, I picked a lamb roast from the specials and a salad from the sides menu asking that the salad be served as a starter. However, all the... More

I cannot highly recommend this Brasserie enough to you. Our evening began with an warm welcome from the staff who were all well aware that our stay was a wedding present, we were treated to complementary bubbles & cocktails, the bar staff recommended wines to complement our menu choices. The menu had a beautiful choice for all pallets, the food... More

First visit to this restaurant, although a company dinner (we did not pay) the service, was first class and choices on menu were excellent. We had one waiter serving 14 covers and not once did he have to ask who was having what for each course, wonderful memory! Although speeches were going on throughout the meal he managed to enter,...
