Visited the chip tonight to celebrate silver wedding anniversary. How overrated is this place. First of all if you have a nut allergy avoid like the plague as every course has some kind of tasteless nut in somewhere. Haggis starter arrived with a film over it obviously cooed too early. the... read more

One of Glasgows finest eateries. However I have noticed that over the past few months the prices are rising quicker than the quiche.

We ate in the bistro part not in the main restaurant bit and found this to be a good decision as it had a really great and bustling atmosphere, quiet enough to talk and listen but still buzzing. Nice welcome and good attentive service and knowledgable waiters that could explain and recommend foods. We had a platter starter which was... More

Ending a week with friends in Glasgow, we were recommended to dine here and what a delight. The atmosphere, food and service were exemplary and the wine list is amazing. Have a look at our photos for a selection of the scrumptious dishes we sampled!

The Chip is a fantastic restaurant, I simply live the atmosphere and decor. The staff have an excellent mix of knowledge and easiness which you don't often find. Food is very high quality, typically Scottish and all cooked just how you like it. The reason it's not 5stars is I remember it being just a wee bit better in the... More

After hearing many rave reviews about The Chip I finally experienced this restaurant for my birthday meal and it didn't disappoint! The restaurant is very atmospheric which created a fantastic venue for a romantic evening. Our waiter for the evening was very friendly, knowledgable of the food on offer and suggested drinks to compliment our meal. The food was full... More

Service after a wobbly start knowledgeable ,courteous and attentive . Starter : Smoked haddie ceviche , I think I liked it ! Main :Roast monk fish tail in a seaweed broth. Trying hard but lacked any depth of flavor. Wine excellent and attentive staff really care and assist in the selection. Ambiance and atmosphere as great as ever. Trying to... More

I had been recommended by friends many years ago to visit the Ubiquitous Chip and despite it taking many years, it was totally worth the wait! The service was excellent, the wine waiter did a great job of choosing a wine close to our taste "Gran Passione" a marvellous and delicious red. The fillet steak was the best I have... More
