No matter how many times I come here - on most trips to the city - it never disappoints. Came this time with a bunch of friends for Celtic Connections, most new to Glasgow. We had dinner downstairs in what - amazing for Glasgow late January - feels more like being in a Moorish palace than a Glasgow Chip shop.... More

We popped in for a Saturday afternoon lunch. Menu was appealing, food was good, service was ok (nothing special!) but we would happily return.

The food was great. The service was as well. We had the Christmas menu and had a lot to choose from. It is rather noisy and they pack a lot of people in. You have to book well in advance for a table.

I hadn't eaten at this restaurant for years but decided to book for a birthday family lunch. On the positive side, the food was very good. However the experience was ruined by some terrible service. The waiting staff seemed completely disinterested and wandered around the restaurant more intent on clearing glasses than engaging with customers. Basics were poor, such as... More

In all the years we've been going to Glasgow, we've never eaten at The UB Chip - so when my friend said that was where we were going for her birthday dinner I was very happy. The place is interesting, the food was delicious (especially the haggis starter) and the service great - knowledgeable and friendly staff. Good selection of... More

This restaurant has been on my list to visit for many, many years but on trips back home to Scotland we have never timed it right to eat there, although we have been to the bar with friends. We arrived fairly late in the afternoon and were able to get a table upstairs to eat from the brasserie menu. Not... More

I cannot remember ever before visiting a restaurant where I cannot think of even a trivial fault. The welcome was friendly, our table awaited us and our coats were taken. Aperitif drinks were ordered and appeared quickly while we studied the menu. The sommelier was asked to recommend a Rhone red wine from the cheaper end of the list and... More
