We were very impressed with the unusual variety of food offered here. I am gluten intolerant and they had a separate menu to offer me. The service was excellent and a great way to celebrate a birthday.

Arriving at the pub entrance rather than the restaurant door, i realise that there are different menus for the the upper & lower floors. However, we were in the lower part (those without tableclothes) but we had a very good dinner (grouse with saute potatoes!), pleasant waiter. An enjoyable evening. Would recommend & return if visiting Glasgow again.

I had been to this restaurant about 12 years ago, first time for the wife. Having just recently returned from Tenerife, I must say it reminded me of a very pleasant restaurant called "El Molino Blanco", without the music. Overall the experience was quite nice and the food and staff were very good, would recommend this restaurant which is situated... More

Booked a table for the afternoon jazz session. Had trepidation, as although the UC in my student days was excellent, we had had a very poor experience 5 years ago at our son's graduation meal. The establishment is now under different management / ownership and I am pleased to say that it is back to its old self. My wife... More

The food was delicious, the surroundings lovely and the wait staff knowledgeable and attentive. We liked it so much we went back again two days later. I was dining with a friend who is allergic to garlic and dairy, when she asked the waiter which items on the menu were safe for her he immediately went to the kitchen to... More

Had dinner here on Saturday, we booked a table in the brasserie part of the restaurant, and were not disappointed as it met all our expectations. The food was really nice and the staff were very friendly and attentive on a very busy night. Would highly recommend!

Dined at “the Chip” on Thursday evening and had a really great dinner. The venison haggis was superb and I followed up with the fillet steak au poivre, served with dauphinoise potatoes, pureed peas and a pepper sauce. I asked for my meat rare and the steak was a little over-done for my liking, but not enough to complain about.... More
