Really very good!

Taken by my cousin, who obviously knew this well; turned up on spec on Sunday lunchtime, greeted nicely and it got better from there. Menu varied, with a struggle to decide, as so much looked interesting. What we did settle on was good. My husband and I both broke our usual habit of not having... read more

Me and my wife came here a few weeks ago, for a meal and a couple of drinks. We were lucky to find a table still vacant. We both had a lovely presented and tasting meal, plus a sweet for the wife. We washed them down with Strawberry Daiquiris which also came top notch. The staff although very busy, were... More

I had just arrived in Scotland and was excited to have my first Full Scottish Breakfast. It was a big plate of food! The staff was so wonderful and explained everything on my plate - which was absolutely delicious (minus one - not a fan of the black pudding). Learned what brown sauce was too - yum! The food came... My partner and I stopped by for an impromptu dinner the other night and were pleasantly surprised by the dutiful staff. As always the food was delicious. My partner had the Venison Roe Haunch and I had the Guinea Fowl; both were fantastic, perfectly done. Throughout the dinner the staff mindfully waited on us just the right amount. I would... More

Friendly welcome while we were killing time waiting for a dinner reservation elsewhere. Seems lots on offer but we only had time for a drink or 2 hence the 4 stars. Would happily come back to find out more

Was here for dinner with friends for a birthday treat. The staff as always were amazing, especially the wine waiter from Kentucky. Our starters were fantastic, especially my scallops with crispy pig cheek. Main courses even better, the guinea fowl and the roe deer were incredible. Deserts a treat for the eye as much as the palate. I have been... More

A Glasgow institution in the university precinct since 1971 with a reputation for being somewhat quirky, we went to the Ubiquitous Chip on a Friday evening with modest expectations which were promptly and thoroughly disposed of. The atmosphere on arrival was vibrant, warm and welcoming. Built around an open courtyard with lush greenery under a skylight with two levels providing... More

I visited here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend for lunch. We were there to try out the 3 course lunch time special at £19.95. The surroundings are lovely, tables set to a very high standard and staff attentive and polite. The food was nice although my starter was disappointing in quantity my main meal tasted delicious, dessert again... More

Our lunch visit was a bit of an accidental surprise really as we had never really set out for this place but rather the nearby cinema. It appears that there are multiple venues in one and despite this appearing to be news to the two staff greeting us we headed up to the higher level (brasserie?) We had two great... More
