My brother and I were at the Chip for Sunday lunch yesterday and it was delicious. We started with a glass of champagne outside watching the world go by (and watching the rain pour down from the shelter of the canopy) before heading in for our table. The somelier was on hand to advise us about the wine and was... More

Take the time to eat here, even if it means a taxi ride. the ambience is warm and inviting, the service excellent and food great (varied menu, well prepared). Great value (food, ambience, service/cost), in my opinion

Had a very nice dinner at The Chip with some business colleagues from the University of Glasgow. The food, service, and ambience were very pleasant, and the wine list excellent. The restaurant is situated down a pretty little lane very close to the University and Hillhead subway station.

Just a quick 10 minutes from the Centre of Glasgow, on Ashton Lane this is a wee gem of a Restaurant. Visited recently with my friend who had received a voucher for this Restaurant for her birthday. 3 course lunch for around £20 per person we were give wee appetizers when we arrived along with home baked bread and butter... First class food served with a smile and knowledge of what was served. The restaurant has a nice cosy feel to it. The food was excellent with traditional Scottisch items and excellent wine list. We had Angus beef which was superb, Caledonian (oatmeal) icecream which was very surprising. Home made sweets were served with the coffee and tea and were... More

We had a great dinner in the restaurant. There were six of us. Started with a nice prosecco. The menu was a bit difficult to understand but the waitress came to the rescue. Most of us had the haggis for starters and it was very tasty. For the main meal it was either steaks or sea bass, both of which... More

Sadly didn't have time to eat in the restaurant as it came highly recommended. We did however enjoy gorgeous cocktails made by professional and knowledgable bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they even gave us umbrellas to take with as it was pouring down. Thanks everyone, hope to see you again soon.

This delightful restaurant tucked away in Ashton Lane offers a stunning 3 course set lunch for just under twenty pounds. 'Highly commend the attentive, yet not intrusive, service, and the quality of most of the meal served. The soup was first class, and the hake plump and delicious, but sadly the crumble was a tad lacking - not thoroughly hot... More

Starting from the quirky name (fries were so everywhere in Glasgow that the owner thought of this as the antidote), to the fun interior (lamps made from crystal decanters, plants spilling from the walls) to the excellent food, this is everything you want for your date night. Sommelier (from Kentucky, can you believe it) gives great advice and every waiter was... More

On a day out to Glasgow from Cumbria we needed a place to eat for an early evening meal before our train journey home. We found this online and booked for a 5:30 "early doors meal". We were both very pleased with the result. We had a 3 course meal for just under £20 a head and all three courses... More
