I've eaten here a couple of times. I find the atmsophere friendly and relaxed with the restaurant staff attentive and friendly. The food is fantastic and it's all Scottish sourced which really adds to the appeal, especially being a Scot myself. I've found on my UK travels that locally sourced food tends to be priced slightly higher but not in... more

I think this is a nice place for a quick snack, Tea, sandwiches etc. I have not been to their restaurant so I cannot comment on the meals on offer. The cakes were ok, not great for £4.95. There were dogs admitted on the premises and they werent guide dogs, which I found a bit off. I like animals just... more

First time to Stravaigin and just loved it. Food, both presentation and taste was outstanding. Service was impeccable and left feeling truly spoiled. Will definitely return for seconds! more

First time in Stravaigin, came highkly reccommended by friends and family, and in local reviews. First glance at the menu gave me a bit of a fright as there didnt appear to be many if the kind of foods i like however it was a very adventurous menu and particular mention must go to to Rook, which is apparently only... more

Good Points: Friendly service. Lively atmosphere. Above average cooking (but no pizzazz). Reasonable wine list. Good bread and dip. Nice chunky chips from the bar. Bad Points: Too noisy. Exceedingly cramped. Boring rustic pub-style setting. Not recommended for romantic dinners. Indulgent & ill-judged Oriental fusions on menu. Poor dessert selection. Pricey for the setting & quality. Erratic service - overstretched... more

If you were to believe some of the reviews of this place you'd think it's God's gift to restaurants...take it from me it's most definitely not and I wouldn't recommend it. Location: Fine, it's in West end of Glasgow, 5 min by taxi from most city centre hotels. Layout: It's effectively got what the marketing blurb calls a brasserie and... more

we ate there last saturday in the restaurant after having some amazing cocktails in the bar. the best magarita and pisco sour ever. the restaurant had a great atmosphere, lots of hussle and bussle. it reminded me of restaurants in London. Our waiter was brilliant and new all about the food. he even encouraged me to have a go at... more

Food is dreadful, small, old fashioned I think they believe it's still the 1980's, very overpriced, service is poor, they ran out of candles when I was there and we couldn't see anything. Restaurant is cramped and you feel squashed in. I've eaten at the main restaurant too which was terrible as well. Avoid it go to the Vallee Blanche... more

My boyfriend and I come here loads - although we've had to scale back slightly in these tought times...The food is always brilliant. Stravaigin offers so much choice - you can go and get some mash potatoes and salad ( if that's what you fancy!!) or a three course, delicious, organic treat...The staff take their jobs seriously - they really... more
