Love it

Great place for drinks with lovely and professional staff, fantastic place for people watching, lovely decor and probably the oldest surviving restaurant in Glasgow, always a pleasure to visit.

Having wanted to eat here for a long time I was quite disappointed with our visit last night. The ambience of the place was nice and the staff were excellent. Very attentive and always serving us with little extras such as an amuse bouche, champagne and delicious petit fours. So if I were to review it on service alone I... More

At The Rogano, you pay for appearances. Not to fault it, the restaurant interior has a classy ambience (though showing wear), and much is written elsewhere about its Art Deco luxury-liner look. But as a dining experience it's past its reputed days of glory. The food was not worth the price; it was just ok, nothing remarkable. The portions were... More

Early Saturday night booking.looking forward to the cunard, deco styling and some high class ambience. Bar at front of the restraunt littered with raucous drunks of the well healed variety. Wasted the atmosphere and any enjoyment of the surroundings. The menu boasted to be a copy of the 1948 restraunt. Not sure if this was ironic given the ration size... More

First time in this place as I wasn't too sure if I would like it as I am fussy, but I could not have been more wrong. Started with the mussels and they were the biggest mussels I have eaten and they were so tasty , then went onto the plaice and it was delicious. Then just had to try... More

Visited last night for the four course tasting menu. Service and food very good. Started with a cocktail, had the matching wines. A lovely meal for my husband's birthday only marred by the close proximity of a family with 2 young children who were not badly behaved but behaved like 2 under school age children would at that time of... Called in here around 4.00 pm, to late for lunch and to early for dinner. Not sure if they were serving food and looking a bit puzzled in the doorway we were met by a member of staff who explained the cafe was available downstairs or we could also eat from the bar menu. We decided on the bar and... More

We were on a day trip to Glasgow and decided to take a chance on finding somewhere for lunch. We really struck lucky! The Rogano is a bit hidden away off one of the main shopping streets, but is worth seeking out. We chose the cafe downstairs, which had a lovely informal atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient, and the... More

Went for lunch menu, The seating in the restaurant itself didn't feel comfortable, although decor and ambience very art deco and interesting The smoked haddock fishcakes/pies were mostly potato although the pickled vegetables made little more interesting The main of fish curry was bland and uninteresting, The service was very attentive, I wouldn't say friendly but feel not vibe they...
