...why Mother India has such a fantastic reputation. I was there a couple of weeks ago with a colleague, for the first time and it was WONDERFUL! We had arrived in Glasgow mid evening, felt that we might as well go somewhere well recommended, grabbed a cab, waited 20 minutes with the menu and a drink - and boy was... More

I've dined in Indian restaurants all over the UK, in Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and in the world famous 5-star Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. My wife, son and I dined in Mother India last week and it has the most authentic Indian food ever tasted by us, cooked by the top chefs hired from India, and is right up... More

Dined with my wife and another couple on 4 September 2014. Our Glasgow friends rate this as the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. Since they dine at this restaurant frequently, I followed their lead, to a degree, in ordering. However, they ordered too much food. They ordered starters of Fish and Vegetable Pakora – these were both tasty, especially the... More

Leaving daughter off to the Glasgow School of Art and we went there for a late lunch. Fine food and excellent friendly service helped us very much with the trauma of leaving her for the first time. Keen prices and useful advice also added to the experience.

I really love the food here, we have never had a bad meal. It is very busy and the cellar can be very noisy. This time we were squeezed beside a large, very loud table and literally could not hear each other speak. We asked to be moved, which was slow but definitely worth it! The food was wonderful as... It was good, we asked for an advice (I like very spicy dishes). We got very good meal but nothing amazing, we were seated in the cellar (do not recommend) waiter was very nice. I asked for vindaloo style but got madras at best. It is good to go but do not expect something amazing

I've been going to Mother India on and off for years as I used to work across the road. Last night we decided to go there for dinner at short notice and the standard was as high as ever. We had a lamb and a chicken dish and of course tried each others. The chicken was good but the lamb... More

Anytime I visit Glasgow I enjoy trying the Indian restaurants there. This time it was Mother India on Sauciehall Street. Really enjoyed the Butter Chicken, the chicken with chilies, and the Lamb with Ladyfingers (okra). Beside being with wonderful friends, sitting next to us was a tv, broadway and movie star Allen Cummings. The food was delicious and service excellent.... More
