We turned up without booking and werent kept waiting long while they prepared a table. Food was delicious and service was fast and efficient. A very busy restaurant but we didnt feel we were being rushed. Will definitely go back. more

I recently attended a three day conference at the SECC and meticulously planned my dining experiences via TripAdvisor reviews! I've eaten at the Mother India cafe on a previous trip and decided to try the restaurant as it is only about 10 minutes walk from the SECC and I was sick of the sandwich bags there. Great lunch: they have... more

The first taste of Mother India's butter chicken dish sealed it as the best Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at. Never had a butter chicken with flavours even remotely close. Unfortunately live nowhere near Glasgow, much less Scotland, but Mother India will be on the list of places to go when I make a return trip. more

First impressions are good with the restaurant housed on 2 floors of a smart townhouse. The menu is also commendably short compared to the standard indian restaurant offering, and features a selection of fish choices for starters and mains. Funny thing a review, just read the last one posted and I just can't agree. Where do you go for a good meal on a Sunday night before a concert? My recommendation is 'Mother India', having eaten at the cafe I just knew the restaurant would be good and it was. Excellent starters, main course and even dessert! Our only... more

The food here is good but not outstanding. Certainly not the best in Scotland. The service we received was very poor and we had to wait for our table (which we had booked) for half an hour then had to ask for menus before anyone would give them to us. This restaurant certainly fails to live up to it's hype. more

I went to Mother India on the strength of the excellent reviews on trip advisor. But much of these reviews are exaggerated in there praise! It was a nice enough restaurant. The staff were attentive and friendly. But this was no way, as some reviews have said, the best Indian in Scotland. The Wee Curry Shop is far superior foodwise,... more

Great Indian cuisine in a calm setting. Go during non-peak times, though - this place gets mobbed during the lunch and dinner rushes. more
