Have been in with a friend to grab a quick takeaway! Was surprised how busy the place was, it shows how popular it is! When we got our food I understood why it is: the dishes were absolutely amazing: really fresh and tasty! Like the idea that you can pick up little bits from the fridge and shelves in front... More

was really looking forward to traditional Indian curry , maybe a Madras or Pathia , certainly something of that strength but nothing on the menu even looked like that, we told the waiter what strength we would like and asked him to help us choose, he was polite enough but don't think he was really bothered so we got bog... I dined here alone on a Sunday lunchtime. There were no other customers there and the waiter just looked at me without speaking so I had to ask him if they were open. He seemed distinctly unimpressed that I wanted a table for 1 and seated me silently and practically threw the menus at me. It took ages for him... More

This was my first visit. I have dined at many restaurants in Glasgow and this one was amongst the top that I would recommend. The tables upstairs are better than downstairs . There is a good atmosphere upstairs. For 4 people, as for the round table! The food is delicious. I was a little bit pee'd off with the service... More

Myself and 4 other friends booked and dined last night. It was busy as always and we were taken to a private dining booth located in the basement floor, which was a first for any of us down stairs. Table 48 is a must as a closed off booth for a small party with 6 place settings. We ordered a... More

Another treat before a concert. We love Mother India, the good is lovely and service fast and efficient. The chicken with spinach was a wee tad drier than usual but still very palatable. My only gripe is that blooming door that is constantly being opened and closed if you are seated on the ground floor! The restaurant is cold but... More

I'll probably get some stick for writing this review. Heard great things from family in the area and read the positive reviews on here. I'm a curry lover and had curries up and down the uk, even abroad. Walked in, sat down, looked at the menu and walked out. An Indian that does not do Onion Bhaji's, Seek Kebabs, and... More

I thought my dining experience at Mother India was very different from what I expected. The restaurant has a very stylish old world decor. I'd recommend booking a table on the first floor. Service was friendly and attentive. I thought the food was unusual. My own choices were fine but I would go back to try others. It's not a... More

Really flavoursome food without the heat, definitely not a run of the mill Indian restaurant . Would recommend fish pakora and lack Dahl

My fiancé and I went for a romantic meal as part of the pre theatre menu deal prior to the Billy Connolly concert. I have never been to Mother India but I had heard good things about the restaurant from various sources and through the press. When we walked in the door we were completely blown away with how stunning... More
