For sheer consistency, must be about Glasgow's best---delicious, balanced, flavoursome Scottish food. The other starters sound delicious but we've found it impossible to have anything other than Gamba's legendary fish soup--as good as it gets, especially with the complementary bread. For my main this time I had roasted hake fillet, creamed peas, mussels and pancetta, with perfectly cooked sides of... More

Cosy bar area where we started with champagne then on to our 'booth' which was ideal seating for six. Food and wines all delicious especially the lobster. Desserts not the most exciting but on the whole a marvellous experience. Staff and service perfect.

Despite the rather unprepossessing access (the restaurant is on the lower ground floor of a Victorian building), the first impression was very positive - attractive decor and a courteous welcome. We were seated in one of the cosy booths which was extremely well lit - soft and warm, yet sufficient to read the menu and see the food. The food... More

I booked Gamba for a mid-week catch-up dinner with a friend visiting from Edinburgh. I arrived early with a suitcase as I had just come from a flight but I was promptly seated and the waitress was more than helpful stowing away my coat and suitcase. It was a cold night and she gave me the best seat in the... More

Impeccably clean restaurant, excellent service and food to die for. You get what you pay for is true here. Try the Margherita with Yuzu and ginger, a superb alternative to lime juice and a barman who takes pride in his work. Lovely ambience too, we will definitely be back.

My daughter is going back to Australia tomorrow so me my wife and her went to Gamba for a quick pre theatre dinner on her last night before going home to pack. The meal was superb and we all had the famous Gamba fish soup which lived up to its reputation. It was delicious. We had fish for the main... More

We went to Gamba for dinner on New Year's Eve. The menu was a Hogmanay Menu, £40 each for 3 courses. The food was faultless. Starters of sea bass tartare and crabmeat with spicy Marie-rose and smoked caviar were excellent. My main course was fabulous - scallops and monkfish cooked in paper with ginger and spring onions. Fish was cooked... More

Took my pal for a 70th birthday treat for lunch to Gamba. It was just excellent. We could not have been better looked after. Such attention to detail. Just before Christmas and yet the atmosphere is calm. A warm welcome and fantastic food. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is definitely my favourite place to eat in Glasgow.
