50's fun

Situated In the nicely cobbled Cresswell Lane, head upstairs in De Courcey's Arcade to find this great little retro cafe. (There are also other small shops in the arcade selling records, antiques and funky clothes). Friendly staff/owners meet you with genuine 50's gear and great service. Cool... read more

Be transported back in time to the 1950's. The food is good and fresh and well priced. Excellent service very friendly staff. Will certainly return.

We had afternoon tea which was one of the best ones we have had so far. It was great value for money as well. We had to wait as the lady who owns the cafe made everything fresh, however it was worth the wait. Presented with lots of care and little touches. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were all home... I have been here three times now and every time it has been lovely. It can be busy on a Saturday so go round early but it is so worth it. Better than any other tearoom I have tried as the don't try and cram loads of people in so it is relaxed. The quality of food and service is... More

Lovely soup, toasty, hot choc and Ferrero Rocher brownie in quirky surroundings which brought back memories of childhood from the headscarfed waitress with flowery pinny to the embroidered tablecloths, sideboards, kitchen cabinets and china. Made us smile and remember! Home made veg broth was tasty. All the cakes looked fabulous! Slightly chilly inside but below zero outside! Waitress had a... More

Imagine my delight when I came out of a horrible, windy and cold winters day into this delightful 40's cafe!! The attention to detail in replicating the 40's front room was perfect with music and magazines to match! I sat on a very comfy chair but then worried that I may not be able to eat my lunch properly. When... More

This cafe offers you a step back in time along with some scrumptious cakes. The staff also dress for the time period. A great atmosphere its like being in your grannys living room. Unique x

We popped in for a mid-week lunch with our wee boy. The home-made soup was delicious and excellent value. My husband's egg sandwich was simple but very, very tasty and again excellent value for money. The cakes looked delicious so we will definitely be back.
