Relaxed French dining

I visited this restaurant not long after it first opened and kept meaning to return. We had the a la carte menu and found it to be pretty good value, the salmon sharing platter was excellent, and in fact could have done 3-4 diners. Fresh crusty bread with various dips and cheeses. I had the... read more

Had a lunch off the main menu and although the food was good it was not great and a bit on the expensive side. The menu overall is quite limited but service was good, relaxed but attentive, as was their house red wine but their limited wine list was also quite expensive. The fixed price menu may offer better value.... More

I visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. We had the set menu, the food was lovely and reasonably priced, as was the wine. I had the seabass baked in greaseproof paper, which was very tasty. The waiter was friendly and helpful - but a wee bit forgetful (we had to ask him for a couple of things twice).... More

My friend and I went for the steak frites for two plus a bottle of wine - a bargain at £30. The peppercorn sauce, chips and dressing for the salad were all homemade and really flavoursome. The steak itself was cooked exactly to order. We couldn't resist going for the dark chocolate fondant with chocolate ice cream and caramel sauce... More

Having previously dined here on four occasions, and really enjoying it, I left feeling quite disappointed this time. The menu now does not have those delicious salads. The steaks (which aren't cheap) were full of nerves and gristle and after leaving over half and complaining we were given a deduction in our bill. The service was poor and the French... More

Visited tonight with my husband for the 1st time. Great value pre-theatre with excellent standard of food. Lovely atmosphere and welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend a visit.

A lovely surprise for valentines day when my Husband decided to treat me to a French lunch out in Glasgow. Le Bistro Beaumartin is discreetly hidden behind large curtains from the passers by, we were seated at the back of the building with lots of other couples, the only downside to this is being a little to close to the... Last night was te second time we have eaten here. We were a large party of 15 eating out for a friends birthday and were so well looked after and cater for! The food was amazing and the service was great! Although a bit more expensive than our normal meal out it was worth every penny for the quality! I... More

We were made very welcome and enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch in the Bistro Beaumartin. The food was casual French in plentiful portion sizes and the wine was very good. The chocolate mousse was especially good! The staff were very helpful and friendly and were will definitely return, hopefully in the evening when they have live music on.

Tried to book by phone on Saturday night - full up. Tried on line - no problem. (?). Ok, pre-cinema so in a hurry, food was good, particularly the chicken main course which was beautifully cooked. Pleasant enough but needs to be a little brighter decor wise. Would go back.
