Great Find

Walking between the two main Glasgow stations and with a bit of time to spare we went to this pub. Had only intended to have a drink but the food being served in the bar made us feel hungry. We got a seat, table hadn't been cleared but when we ordered at the bar the barman came and cleared the... read more

On holiday in Scotland with my family and we dropped in for lunch at 12 noon. Even at 12 noon they have door staff on! We were refused entry because they don't allow families in for lunch - we were five adults and one 14-year-old . I called the restaurant they say they do not allow under 18s in on... More

Dear Mr Grant, Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion. I’m disappointed that you feel the need to post such a low scoring review. We remember your visit well. The date you are referring to was the day of a large international football match in Glasgow. The city was host to a large travelling support, and as... More

We were in town to go to the cinema and fancied something to eat first. Glad we went here. We often just pop in here for a drink on the way to the train station. The food and drink were ordered at the bar, it was a busy day in the pub, however, the food arrived promptly. I had the... More

Been here quite a few times but this was the first time I had food. We went in to watch the rugby and the atmosphere was a buzz. We ordered some sharing platters and they were great value for money and very tasty. The staff were friendly and even provided free half time snacks which is a nice touch. There... More

Visited Waxys because we were able to use a tastecard buy one get one free on a three course meal. Had a really good meal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The layout was very tipsy turfy but it added to its character and charm. The male bathroom floor had a few tiles loose on the floor but this... More

Love this place! Been a few times now and always have a great time. Foods decent and the atmospheres always great. Stands out from the other bars and restaurants nearby because of its quirky decour and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Visited waxy O'Connors yesterday (31/01/15) with my daughter, waited patiently at bar while 3 people who had arrived after me got served. Only when the young barman went to serve the 4th person did I say that I had waited for some time. He replied that he was only serving one half of the bar, I pointed out that I... More

Visited 'Waxy's' last Sunday with family for lunch, a couple of drinks and to hear the impromptu live music that goes on there most Sunday afternoons. As it was Burns birthday, thought I'd have the Haggis for lunch. My wife had the Roast Beef Dinner and my daughter and her boyfriend each had a steak sandwich. Quality and value for... More

I went here for some drinks with my boyfriend, The atmosphere of the bar is amazing so idylic looking and beautiful interior. Reminds me of Hogwartz. Location amazing as its right beside Queen Street Train Station. Also ordered Nachos to nibble on and I was pleasently suprised as to how much I enjoyed them that we ended up ordering a... More
