Had a few drinks in this place with som friends. It's got lots of different levels stairs going here and there really wacky, it's been decked out with furnature from I think churches a bit gothic but very different and interesting. I can imagine if you had a few it getting a bit mixed up, as I said lots of... More

We somewhat meanly took advantage of both Tesco vouchers and a Taste Card. Pub is set out over several levels and is traditional Irish in style. Good food, good beer reasonably priced, and not too busy despite its city centre location.

Wow feeling when you are entering and walk over the different floors of this very cosy pub. Food is excellent!

Great place and totally different to anywhere else we have been. Drinks prices as you would expect for a city and the pub had lots of different people in there. Couples, groups and all ages. Had a few problems finding our way out and inadvertently gate crashed a private party. All the different rooms and bars provided a different dimension... More

Been drinking in waxys a long time and it's definitely worth a visit if your ever in Glasgow. Absolutely stunning pub set over several floors, Great selection of whiskys and one of the last pubs in Glasgow that still sells Caffreys on draft. Be warned it's not a cheap pub, but it's worth paying the price for the surroundings. The... More

Allegedly has a Gluten free menu......except no one could find it! The barman didn't have a clue and didn't know anything about gluten. Even offered me the option of a low alcohol lager! Never going there again!

Hi I am very sorry that the Gluten free menu was not to hand. With a bar so big sometimes items get moved about. Your bartender contacted me immediately and within a few minutes I had another printed but you had left the building. I will ensure that at our next team meeting I will re-brief all the staff about... More

It is really hard to describe this place. It is on different levels with little nooks and crannies hidden here and there. It is all done in carved wood and has stained glass ceiling panels. On Sunday evening there was a group playing Celtic music in one of the bars. The food is above average for pub food and the... More

Hi Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will pass on your compliments to the kitchen staff. The chowder is amazing. We get so many compliments about it. I am glad you got to hear a bit of the trad session on the Sunday. It is a great wee afternoon listening to the talented musicians. They play with... More

I had lunch at Waxy's O´Connor at the end of a conference I attended. I was in a bit of a rush, as I had to take my plane back home. The place is really big and was pretty empty for a Sunday at 1 pm. My server was nice, I had a pint of a local ale and the... More

Went there for a few last night with my partner. Great atmosphere, staff were friendly enough. Wasnt as busy as I thought it would be on a saturday night. Only gave it 4 stars because the bars all closed early leaving the one downstairs open. And there are a lot of small staircases to manouver.

Hi Thanks for your lovely review. The bars in the top level only have a licence until midnight which is when they closed. We had an extended licence for our World Cup party in the lower level which has a licence to 1am as it was a party. This is why we had to close the top levels. I apologise... More

The food was excellent and the inside is amazing. The only downside was being refused a take away box. When you pay that much for food you should be able to take it with you. I don't eat very much at a time so I was really unhappy at not being able to take it with me. Basically have to... More
