Casual lunch

Food was fine, not out of the ordinary, but the service seemed, dare I say, selective. We were clearly either forgotten about!? or passed over in favour of friends/ regulars; and I have noticed this before. Great place for light meals, Glass of wine, or coffee; and the cakes looked good. Typical... read more

Visited this week on a busy sunny day, it's a big venue and I presume could easily get caught out with staffing issues if it gets unexpectedly busy, there's very little that could be faulted, the food was of a standard relative to the price and the service was actually pretty attentive considering how busy it was, lots of quirky... Came here with 5 friends last Friday night, we were all disappointed with our food. 4 of the dishes (2 starters and 2 mains) were brought out either cold in the middle or lukewarm altogether. We had to complain about this and the waitress said she would get it changed (which we think was just microwaved as when the dish... More

I love this place and have done since stumbling upon it two years ago upon moving back to Glasgow. I'm in practically every day and although they might not always get it right, if given the opportunity they'll do their best to do so, which is why I find it laughable that reviews are written after turning up for a... The layout, interior decor and atmosphere are all impressive. We arrived on a busy Sunday and were effectively ignored for about 25 minutes until I literally grabbed a waitress. The food when it eventually arrived was tasty but the bill was eye watering. This place needs at least an additional 5 staff. I've never understood it why these people treat... More

I was wanting to treat my mum to some Brunch on Sunday and decided to give epicures a go. We were not disappointed! We came in and got seated straight away and offered to order coffee when we sat down. Then our waitress was very attentive and polite throughout our whole visit. I had eggs benedict which was delicious and... More

Please don't be deterred by reviews of those expecting fast food for a pittance! We have been regular customers at Epicures for around three years now and we know that the queue of people at their entrance on weekends means that we shouldn't expect fast food in a twenty minute turnaround; and who would want that in such beautiful restaurant?!... Stopped in at Epicures for lunch this weekend. I had never previously been here, but had passed by many times and always thought it looked nice. The main area in front of the bar/kitchen is indeed light and spacious with a good atmosphere. Sadly, as it was rather busy, we were seated on the mezzanine level, which was rather cramped... More

Looking for somewhere for lunch and came across this place and decided to give it a try without seeing the reviews on here. As per many previous reviews the service is very slow. 25 minutes for a drink, 40 minutes for food, and then the food was under cooked. Will not be back

The food was good but the service was shocking. Twenty five minutes we waited for drinks after we sat down. Then they had the cheek to add a service charge to our bill which we swiftly declined to pay! Will not be back. Seems to be the general consensus with this place.
