We went at lunchtime. There were only two staff there, the chef and the waitress. Seeing only a few others sitting in, we asked for a table (all were reserved but when we explained to the waitress that we would not have much time and could not be there long, she let us have a table). We ordered what we... More

After a 35 mile canal walk we were pleased to see people go into the bar/restaurant, we got there and were grumpily advised they were closed. Welcome to Glasgow, not.

My friend and I visited on Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere there was nice, nearly all tables taken. We had afternoon tea. It was looking not very well.. The sandwiches were quite dry (too little fillings), the muffins, slice of madeira and ginger cake were looking really cheap. The only thing that tasted lovely were the warm scones with cream. The... I don't often write reviews unless I've had a bad experience but here is the exception. My friend and I had afternoon tea at Ocho and it genuinely is a hidden gem. Great sandwiches, lovely scones and tea served by Eleanor with great chat and good humour. Looking forward to a speedy return, especially in summer when it will be... More

I went to Ocho with my Mum as a treat for her. The High Tea was a voucher with the value of £40, but I paid only £10. The sandwiches were made to order and where lovely, as were the scones and cakes. Afterwards, both my Mum and I agreed that £10 was about right, but no way would we... More

We recently went to Ochoa on the canal with an afternoon tea voucher. What a con! No cake just scone and sandwiches. Asked if we wanted to upgrade to soup as well for an extra £2,which we did, the soup was watered down so much you could count the lentils. The waitress also asked us what kind of scone we... More

Smashing little place. Eleanor made us very welcome. It was a cold windy day and we were asked if if we would like to "upgrade" our afternoon tea with a bowl of homemade soup for £2 extra. Soup, sandwiches and cakes were all delicious - we even had a wee bit dumpling each on ours (with much laughter from the... More

Afternoon tea was a poor selection of uninspiring sandwiches and no home baking - I suspect the cakes were either Mr Kipling or similar from a supermarket - however the home made soup was good. I was surprised to find no convenient parking and given its location well out of the city centre going by car is quite likely. Staff... More
