Close but no cigar!

Have been to Browns before and enjoyed it. Booked a table for 4 at lunchtime today and was looking forward to a catch up with my girlfriends. Arrived slightly early and was shown to a table adjacent to the waiters station. Not a good location so asked to be moved to the mezzanine and that wasn't a... read more

We went for the Sunday roast and Yorkshire pudding. It didn't disappoint. We stayed for way too many cocktails because they were so good!!! And such a great selection for £5. Best kids menu I've seen in Scotland. Kids food arrived super fast! A classy venue with great ambiance. Crystal glasses, live piano, chandeliers. So nice to have such a... More

We visited Browns on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I had looked at the menu online and booked a table for 6, all adults. On arriving we had to wait at the door for sometime before anyone came to show us to our seat. The waiter came after a few mins to take our drinks order but we asked for... More

Having had a positive experience in Brown's, Edinburgh I took a friend to the Glasgow branch for lunch on Saturday. Initially I was delighted with my choice, friendly, professional staff, nice venue and a varied menu. Our waiter introduced himself (can't remember his name, American/Canadian Accent) and did such a good job explaining the specials of the day I chose... More

I booked dinner for 2 on line for wed 22/4 at 5.30. It clearly stated 2 course for £10. The staff as always were professional and polite. When we came to order it was explained the set menu was now £11.95 as the choice had been extended...As I had been for lunch the week before felt their was actually less... More

Went to Browns for the first time for lunch with my better half. The restaurant itself is lovely and the lunch menu not too bad for the price. We got our starters pretty quick but had a wee wait for the main course. This was not much of a problem as the Malbec wine they serve was excellent and didn't... More

We go to Browns about twice a year when in Glasgow and always seem too be served by Michael who is such a good waiter and nice guy that the experience is great from the start. We had a burger, the cod and kids had fish and chips. We also shared a scallop starter. It was reasonably busy (Friday lunchtime)... More

Browns in Edinburgh used to be a firm favourite of my wife and I, and the news of a Browns opening in Glasgow was welcomed. I've visited a few times for drinks, however had the pleasure/misfortune of eating with work colleagues last night. And it was poor. I had a goats cheese and walnut starter which was decent but hardly... More

A group of 16 or so of us went here tonight for a friend's birthday, and I have to say I found the visit severely lacking. They had informed my friend that they were closing at 8 that evening for a refurbishment which was fine as we had plans afterwards, but we didn't expect them to be packing up all... More
