Glasgow is a city dominated by impressive Victorian architecture, and Browns is right in the centre of the city. Housed in the iconic 130 year old ex-General Post Office building, the GPO headquarters until 1969, when it became the Post Office. Now it's a stylishly decorated, relaxed 300 seater brasserie and bar, perfect for morning coffee, lunch, dinner or cocktails in between exploring the many delights of Glasgow. Come and enjoy one of the most vibrant, dynamic, stylish cities in Europe.

Very good restaurant with really good food

Visited with work colleagues for a leaving night and this place is ideal for a group night out. Varied menu- can recommend the Wild Boar & Chorizo burger, and the Sticky Toffee pudding. Good service and really good atmosphere.

I've been to Browns a few times since it opened for both dinner and lunch and always enjoyed myself. So I thought it might be a nice place to take my parents when they were visiting from overseas. I made the booking almost 2 months ago for last night and I'm sad to say it will be my last visit... More

I visited with 7 friends for a birthday meal close to Christmas (wrote a review then which hasn't posted for some reason!). I never write bad reviews where it's undue, but the service on this occasion was absolutely appalling. As we booked a large table close to xmas we were asked to pre-order the meals and drinks 10 days in... More

My friend and I had breakfast over a year ago and loved it - came back for second helpings this time round. The choice of breakfasts is quite original - everything from lovely choice of fruit salad which my friend and I shared - to cooked breakfasts and various choices in between. The amazing fishcakes which I'd previously had weren't... More

Had an amazing meal at Browns. Had our works Christmas night out here but this was my first time eating from the restaurants actual menu. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal which consisted of scallops, crab, fillet steak and for dessert profiteroles (which were like little balls of heaven on a plate). Steaks cooked exactly how we asked... More

Brown’s Bar & Brasserie - Glasgow ( 20/3/2015 ) We arranged to meet another couple here for lunch and a blether. It had been recommended for its ‘chips’ and for its atmosphere. Unfortunately it did not really suit us at all. Situation / Ambiance Situated on a corner of George Square, Brown’s is very handy for transport, shopping or just... More

I don't usually write negative reviews so hopefully this is taken as constructive criticism! Had visited before and thought was average but one of our party wanted to try it. On this occasion we were seated downstairs in the 'corridor' - noisy, cold and outside the toilet door at a jammed in table which were told we could have for... More

Went with three family members for a bite to eat prior to catching train. The early evening menu of two courses for a tenner was excellent value for money and the quality of the food was exceptionally good. Overall a good bar with a great ambience certainly will be back!

We stumbled upon Browns after a visit to St George's Square, located just opposite. Looking for a lunch spot Browns advertising on the street enticed us with the offer of a 2 course lunch. The interior is very relaxed with a large grand piano situated in the corner which I can imagine creates a great ambiance whilst sipping a wine... More
