Disappointing Visit

Visited on 27.06.15. Booked a table for 6pm. Service was very slow although the poor waiter was meeting himself coming backwards. He was very pleasant, helpful and polite but clearly overstretched. We had to ask one of the supervisors to take our food order. One starter was cold and had to be... read more

Food is nice but the noise of the place is just awful. You'd think you were in a club! The atmosphere is really bad because of this. Can barely hear the people sitting at the table. Better as a bar because it was such an unpleasant meal where you couldn't hear the company. Service was slow too!!

Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table at lunch time on a Thursday. Large party of delegates had just arrived from somewhere. Waited ages for food, one meal was stone cold, the other a steak was tougher than a pair of old boots! Waited for fresh meals which weren't great. Manageress reduced bill by 50%-still didn't make up... More

Dined with friends, A lovely old building with character in the heart of Glasgowl The staff were attentive although some of the service was a little slow. Would not say the food was anything special , in fact a little dissappointed in it , chips were cold and food did not taste or look very exciting, shame😒😒😒😒😒

Visited with my wife, 13 year old son and 5 month daughter. Probably a bad time to visit as it was very busy. Waiter very good, attentive, energetic, very plesant. Wife and son's Fish and Chips and 'Browns Burger ' were excellent by all accounts. I ordered the 9oz Rib Eye medium, slightly under done for me but no blood... More

went along for afternoon tea in the lovely setting that is Brown's. Well served by it's location, on entering it is very well presented & welcoming staff who where attentive & accommodating. The table was well set-up & crockery good - they perhaps could benefit from china mugs for the tea though. Cakes on the whole nice, although not convinced... More

When this place first opened it was great. They served good food and had great service but as time has gone on it has slipped. They can't seem to cook a chicken dish without it being submerged in a watery tasteless broth! They seem unable to cook steaks correctly or remember who ordered what type of steak. It's just disappointing... More

Went there with a group of friends midweek at lunchtime. Surprisingly, for a joint in a prime spot on George Square the place was pretty much empty. The decor is pretty nice, almost colonial, quite tasteful. Service was prompt, polite and attentive, but to be fair the waiting staff had little else to do. The food was instantly forgettable, the... Perfect after a morning of touring on foot to sit and relax in an exquisite restaurant right on St. George's Square. Fine selection of beers and ales on draft and consider a Scottish Breakfast or Lobster Benedict if you are there for breakfast.
