Went there today for a drink, waited 10 mins to be served even though it was empty, eventually got served after barman served his mate (that worked there and then discussed the drunk girls they felt up the night before), who arrived at the bar after us, annoying!!!! The beer (Tenants) was rubbish and smelt off and we didn't finish... More

Came here with my partner and another couple , got a cheap voucher deal . I am not going to go into too much detail, other than too say food is average, service is average surroundings are average and for what we paid ,we found the whole experience satisfactory . If i had to pay the full prices i would not... More

Took my Gran here for a treat as she'd just came from the hospital... Wish we had went somewhere else! Myself, my sister, my mum and my gran all went for lunch here. We ordered our food; me and gran got fish and chips and my sister and mum got the mussels. I noticed the water glasses on the table... More

It looks like a working mens club from the outside, which has had a semi make over, however the inside is much more plush with a number of different areas for drinks and to eat. It was quite big inside and a little impersonal - my only negative. There was a varied menu, pretty standard fair, but very well cooked... More

First went here early 2011. It had a grand piano at the time and seemed quite plush, nice mood lighting, decent atmosphere, busy. Also had some decent beers. To be fair, at the time I rated this above the Bank along the road. How times have changed. We had stopped off after a walk a few weeks back and the... More

Went in on sat 13th at 7pm were welcomed by a smiling member of staff, after being served drinks and cocktails we explained that we had a gluten free member in our party, they were very happy with the choice and quality of the food, the manager John was over several time chatting and making sure we were being looked... We took advantage of a Wowcher deal, as we had good memories of good food being served at this restaurant. However it is now under different management/chef and turned out to be a bitter disappointment! Our starters were good, but both our sirloin steak main courses had to be returned. My husband had ordered garlic mash along with his well... More

Decided to pop in and have a quick drink as the weather is lovely and I'd seen the beer garden sign whilst out jogging. I cannot get my head round what we encountered. The barman was so rude to the point of actually scowling at us the whole time he poured our drinks. It was unsettling and I can't understand... More

Having lived in the area for many years I was looking forward to visiting a bar/restaurant within walking distance and also with a beer garden. I have visited the Merrylee a few times before and have to say I was not impressed, the staff were uninterested, bored looking, and the place was empty, we went on a Thursday night 'curry... More

I have eaten there with my wife on about five or six occasions and cannot fault the food and the great service given by the staff there, particularly Yvonne and Nicole. My wife is of the opinion that the smoked haddock risotto is second to none. Haddock and chips is my favourite. They are currently doing Itison vouchers and at £12... More
