Wife's 30th Birthday Meal

I booked here for a party of 27 for my wife's 30th birthday. From the start, communication was excellent. The price was very competative compared to other enquiries I made. All of my requests were dealt with easily and they even made a personalised menu for my wife. The restaurant itself is... read more

I really used to like this restaurant but was very disappointed by our visit this time. The food was bland and seemed like it was reheated. Some food was quite greasy and oily. It was poorly presented. Staff forgot drinks orders. Menu never seems to change much and the atmosphere was lacking. Such a pity as this used to be... More

First time at café source thought it might be a fair way out from city centre but it was an easy walk from George square. The Scottish themed menu had some great options highlights were the lamb shank and the haggis/beef burger. The restaurant was busy but not packed on Saturday night so nice atmosphere with prompt service well worth a visit

Visited today for a birthday lunch. There was a decent menu choice on the internet offer of two courses and a glass of wine for £13.95 and the food itself was really tasty but what was outstanding was the standard of service. It is a while since my wife and I visited this restaurant (such a wide range of choice... More

Great wee restaurant. It has a cafe feel as its quite casual decor and simple seating etc but the food is awesome and well presented. Drinks are good value and as I booked via 5pm online I got 2 course meal with a glass of wine for £13.95 on a Saturday night at 8pm. Staff friendly and attentive. Would defo... More

A first time visit here, place which has always been recommended by friends, and we weren't left disappointed. Excellent value on the pre-theatre, for two course, including a glass of wine. We had Cullen skink (very good, maybe too much potato) and a goats cheese tartlet (excellent) followed by daube of beef (fabulous, very rich) and puttanesca pasta (ok, nothing... More

Went with the family midweek and had a most enjoyable 3 courses. Menu was varied and food well cooked. Kids well catered for. Only thing pulling it down from full marks was very slow service, even though the restaurant was practically empty. Like I say, it was midweek though. Would not let that put me off returning, definitely worth a... More

Visited here with friends for early evening meal. 2 courses for £11.95 including a glass of wine. Varied menu with some daily specials added. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and efficient. A little off the beaten track but still very busy with a good atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Well, it was our turn, and we were up to "C". Cafe Source was a definite C, and the menu looked quite nice. On phoning to book, Mrs J was told that it was Big Band night, and tables were limited. We got the choice of the last booth, but were warned that the view of the band was blocked... More
