Stopped in for a cup of tea and a scone while on a walk . Scone came with clotted cream and a nice bit of jam and the tea came with a small macaroon on the side and all at less than a fiver. The decor of the place is very modern. The staff were very friendly with a good... More

I've been to Cafe Source now on a few occasions and have never been disappointed with the food. I have had the fillet steak each time which was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The staff have always been very friendly and the service great. The setting is lovely. I had previously been put off going as it's slightly out... More

It was lovely to go back to this restaurant for mothers day, its solid tasty Scottish fayre is always an attraction to us. This time was no different a delicious meal was had by all. My venison was especially tasty and perfectly cooked. But my desert of chocolate torte and jaffa ice cream was a triumph! Husbands (cullen skink/pork and... More

Brother booked the 2 course theater deal Inc. a glass of wine, as we were going to a show in Glasgow, staff very friendly and attentive, the Cullen Skink soup as a starter “was to die for” also all other dishes that the five of us had were excellent. The only issue we did have as going to show that... More

All the food my table ate was delicious. I had a hard enough job choosing what I wanted as the menu had so many great sounding dishes and really reasonable prices. After our meal everybody said we must go back just to try more things of the menu. A great find a little out of the way. Have recommended to... More

Dined here recently on the pre-theatre menu for the first time and found it to be a really special experience. This restaurant is the underground part of St Andrews on the square and has a really cozy feel. The interior is very dark though with a low roof and lots of wide pillars and the longer I spent in there... More

Had lunch from lunch/pre theatre menu, excellent value at 13.95 for 2 courses or 16.95 for 3 including a glass of wine. Food was fresh including smoked salmon for starters, excellent daube of beef and a delicious Orkney fudge cheesecake. The service was excellent but not obtrusive. Overall an excellent place to eat in the old part of the city.

I recently enjoyed an excellent lunch with my friend. The starters of haggis fritters were very enjoyable. The main courses and desserts were also excellent. The fixed price menu of £13.95 for two courses or £16.95 for three courses is excellent value. I would recommend anyone who likes good imaginative Scottish cooking to try this restaurant.
