Christmas party 2014

Huge portions of prawn and chorizo, beef casserole and mash, and mountain of meringue. Required a few craft beers to wash it all down. Good first impression.

The restaurant although small is full of character. Portions are massive. I had a goat cheese tart to begin which was very tasty. I followed it with the balmoral chicken which was massive and so delicious. The dessert platter was fantastic. Upon hearing that it was my husband and i's anniversary the server put a sparkler in our platter which... More

After a cold walk around Aboyne, in June, we warmed up in the Black Sheep Bistro. Friendly service, lovely cinnamon bagels and amazing chocolate cake.

We were shown to a table at the rear of the restaurant, beside the kitchen from where we could hear the chatter of the staff. This did spoil the experience somewhat. Having read the reviews we were hoping for some exceptional food but sadly...... More

We have visited the Black Sheep Bistro on several occassions and have always been impressed with the quality of food and standard of service. You do need to book well in advance due to the popularity of the bistro. Well done again to all the staff for providing continuing high standards of service resulting in enjoyable family get togethers over... More

Booked a table after reading all the positive reviews on TA, and we were not disappointed. I could write screeds about the meals but I would only be going over what others have written. We both had haggis starters, huge portions and tasted great, followed by chicken the other beef olives, again really good and huge servings, to finish off... More
