A good fish fry is a humble thing, but humble can be sublime. And my simple meal of fish and chips and peas at the Black Sheep Bistro one early Sunday evening was in fact sublime. As I was just passing through Glasgow, I might not have the chance to come back here again. But you can and you should.... More

I had to book a table several weeks in advance to get close to the dates I was looking for so definitely book ahead. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside and is small with only a couple of tables so can feel a bit cramped but the food sure makes up for that. I had a fish... More

First time trying this place, went along with family who had been before. Outstanding traditional Scottish food. Had Stornoway black pudding, tattie scone & poached egg to start. Then steak pie mash & veg, the meat melted in my mouth. Big portions so couldn't attempt a desert but they looked lovely. Great service too & reasonably priced. Have to book... More

The scallops are the best I have had, and excellent value. Pudding was simply amazing! You can't go wrong.

I had the lamb shank and then the dessert platter afterwards - both were superb. There were great traditional choice on the menu so everyone could easily pick a meal. The setting is small, laid back and nice. Almost feels like you have been transported to a nice out in the country venue.

Get booking this lovely restaurant. Its small and fills up quickly!!! Great take on Scottish home made food. Fantastic choice including black pudding salad, chicken balmoral. But you must save room for dessert offer platters of mini desserts which are all amazing!! Waitresses friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

We have visited 3 times in the last year or so, the most recent was Sunday lunch and the food was amazing, it is good homecooked Scottish food, with very generous portions and the prices are extremely reasonable. My favourite dish is a scallop, black pudding and parma ham starter with creamy mustard sauce, my mum had grilled goats cheese,... More

we've been meaning to go for a while based in trip adviser reviews. really good, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and substantial menu ( that I could have eaten anything off ). We just had the fish n chips for a main, which was very fresh, and my wife had prawns and chorizo as a starter and I had scallops and... More
