The purpose of the visit was for the amazing Tafelspitz but on the last 3 occasions it has been sold out. Our reservation was for 3pm so I wouldn't expect this dish to be sold out so quickly and especially as the restaurant was typically quiet for a Sunday in January. This dish is only available on a Sunday so... More

Apart from that. The food is very good. Steaks are cooked very well. We had to use the candle on the table to look at our menus which is pretty ridiculous so maybe brighten up a bit? The staff needs to also brighten up. It was very busy when we went on a Tuesday night and it took about an... More

We booked for 5 people for my husband's birthday. On arrival we were seated as our table was ready and ordered water for the table. We were waiting for 2 other people who had not arrived yet- however, when we ordered water, the waitress served all 5 glasses? Thought it strange but didn't say anything. When everyone had arrived we... More

I dined here last week, had really been looking forward to it but felt a bit underwhelmed. The starter (blue cheese and walnut salad) was ok, nothing to boast about. I had the burger for main, which was nice, not the best i've had - the skinny chips it came with were rock solid. However the jaffa cake ice cream... More

the restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver and was the first eaterie we visited on our recent visit - staff were very welcoming - menu had an excellent range of 'meaty choices' with other lighter options available. The food was very well presented and very tasty.

We booked the restaurant for our wedding anniversary and made the trip through from Edinburgh for the night. Greeted with a warm welcome but had to wait 25min for our pre booked table (was just a bit too busy, turning over tables when diners had literally just stood up from the table)good for business not so much when a customer. finally... Had a lovely meal with some friends. The service and food was great but I don't think it justifies the prices.
