Faith in humanity restored

Due to some unforeseen circumstances I was left in the butchershop bar and grill alone and quite upset. This has not a food review but simply one for the staff. Visited this restaurant for a small family birthday gathering. It's difficult to book a table here but managed to get one at 9.00pm. Obviously it's all about the steak and they were delicious although I have had similar steaks in other Glasgow eateries so not really sure where the hype is coming from. Portions were quite large so unfortunately didn't... More

We ate here for the first time last night and were highly impressed. The food was excellent as was the service and setting. It was reasonably priced for the quality of food - our surf and turf had good sized lobster and steak which were both cooked perfectly. Friend recommended this restaurant to me and I'll be recommending to others... More

This place is known for serving high end dry aged beef. When doing so the expectations are quite high. I ordered the cote de bouef it had good flavor but I would like to see a little thicker cut. I order my steaks medium rare and it's hard to achieve that with a half inch thick steak. Our service was... More

I've been to the butchershop on two special occasions and it is easily the best dining experience I have had. The food is glorious. The steak melts in your mouth. I would sincerely recommend any of the sides to compliment the steak. I usually wolf down my food but here I savoured every bite! It's a great place to impress... More

My husband wanted to visit the Butchershop after a busy month at work, the steaks were delicious however there wasnt as good a selection of starters as i would have liked. The service was good although it felt a little squashed inside and we were very close to the couple beside us. Overall dinner was nice and i would recommend... More

dined here after reading some great reviews meal was pretty average and didn't present good value for money . On a more positive note Shaun our waiter proved to be a real asset to the restaurant providing us with a first class service .

I have eaten at the Butchershop several times and it's never failed to impress. The steaks are good quality and they always manage to cook everyone's to perfection. It is always very busy during the evenings. I am being pernickety, but if you do go during a busy period sometimes the service can be slightly slower. Lunchtime service is brilliant... More

Me and my husband visited here for a meal while staying in Glasgow for a few days. The bar was clean and really trendy. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and tried a dish that I wouldn't have normally and I wasn't disappointed, my husband had a steak and it... More
