Ate here recently for lunch and enjoyed it thoroughly. Both the leek and potato soup and beetroot 3 ways were very good starters and the chicken and haggis main was good too. Service was very good. This popular venue is well worth a visit.

Enjoyed quality and good value lunch here after visiting the house. Chorizo, scallop and black pudding salad excellent as was husbands haggis stuffed chicken. Desserts were also very high quality and obviously home made. There were also several other dishes which looked interesting and made choosing difficult. Lemon and elderflower mousse was tangy and light as was the black currant parfait,both... More

i used to visit this restaurant yearsago when I worked in Glasgow, but the restaurant seemed just as welcoming and excellent on a recent visit for coffee and scone with cream and jam. Excellent service and good food. One nice extra was a walk in the walled garden. Highly reccomended.

Popped in for coffee and cakes and have to say most unimpressed. They were reasonably busy but not chockablock it took about 5 minutes waiting before we were acknowledged we were then seated and placed our order 2 cappuccinos, 1 coffee, 1 hot chocolate a brownie and a Danish pastry. It took 20 minutes for them to arrive and when... More

Thank-you for your comments, its disappointing to hear that you felt let down by the service and quality of hot drinks you received on your recent visit to the Art Lovers Cafe. It can take our barista a little time to prepare hot drinks, particularly if we have a few orders there can sometimes be a short wait. Certainly our... More

We chose the House of an Art Lover because we’ve been here before and liked the atmosphere and the food. However, this time we left disappointed. The food was so-so and the service was the same. Trying to catch a waiter in order to pay for our meal proved to be frustratingly difficult, even though it wasn’t particularly busy at... More

Hi Petunia, Many Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback, we are disappointed to hear that you found your second visit to the venue to be lacking in terms of food and service standards. The service and quality in our cafe is very consistent so it is surprising to hear your comments, we will of course follow up... More

As soon as we saw House for an Art Lover we just knew this was the place we wanted to get married and hold our reception in. The building itself is stunning and the interior certainly does not disappoint. However, for my bride and I the staff really made our wedding day – and boy did we end up throwing... More

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this lovely café before - I've been here often enough. In fact I've eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks. Of course the setting is great, attached to the House for an Art Lover and with park and gardens nearby. There's a terrace to sit outside if the weather ever allows! Tables... More
