Having never visited House for an Art Lover before I wasn't sure what to expect but I was so impressed with my visit I can't wait to take friends and family with me again. The setting is beautiful and the restaurant itself has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. We felt very well looked after throughout our visit. Everything from the warm... More

Had a surprise 60th birthday here on Saturday, it was amazing. Beautiful surroundings, winter wonderland outside and stunning architecture inside. Lovely warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. The meal was delicious as all my family and friends will testify to. The attention from the staff was second to none and I would like to say a special thank you to Scott... More

Called in for lunch just on the off chance we would not need a reservation. Welcomed warmly and taken to a table of our choice. Order for drinks taken and our choice brought swiftly. Main courses Sea Bream for me and Chicken for my companion were a delight to the eye and to the palate. Dessert followed at a comfortable... More

Had lunch here today. We chose turkey & trimmings...bad choice!!! Food reminiscent of school dining hall only less tasty & smaller portions. ..the latter being a blessing!!! I have enjoyed several lunches in this beautiful place...sadly not today. The service was excellent unlike the food!!! Overcooked turkey, undercooked potatoes & tasteless jus/gravy could not be redeemed by the well cooked... More

I enjoyed my visit to HFAAL, the whole place is an oasis of taste, the food in the restaurant is excellent for a council run operation, the ambiance is nice and the silver service is a nice change. I liked it so much there we decided to host our wedding here, the staff were very helpful in planning that.

Food, service & surroundings cannot be faulted in any way. Excellent menu, very reasonably priced. Booking advised if you have definite plan to visit, to avoid disappointment, as been very busy on both occasions I have visited. Staff in both the lovely shop and restaurant are friendly and efficient, other venues should take note!! Not too easy to find if... More

Visited recently with a friend for lunch. I had never been before so it was a very pleasant surprise after having found it. I say after having found it because it wasn't on my satnav but I'm glad I persevered and just put in Bellahouston Park and then it was signposted. I'm not prone to eating a large meal at... More

Who would have thought a council-managed free museum could harbour such a great restaurant?! Seriously, the cafe in the HFAAL is more of a restaurant and more than most restaurants. The food quality is splendid and the prices are reasonable (though not cheap). All the meals everyone had at the lunch setting were splendid. Each was novel, colourful, expertly presented... More

Service was attentive and the choice of options were good. Cafe is open throughout the day and is also available for coffees and cakes. We enjoyed every ing... More

My family and I visited the House for an Art Lover cafe for a special birthday lunch. We had pre-booked our table and I certainly recommend that you do, as the cafe was very busy. The food (and drink) was delicious, just the right size portions and very reasonably priced! The staff were attentive and friendly. The grounds around the... More
