In the cellar Part of the Two Fat ladies at the Buttery, the steak was delicious, but the table lighting was not working and the doors opposite were in regular use for collection of wine and boxes for up stairs. Some nice stained glass features and staff friendly, the meal was good value. I prefer upstairs for a special occasion... More

Arrived on a Friday evening at 5pm with my wife voucher in hand having already booked directly with Shandon Belles two days prior. As one might expect, the small restaurant was quiet with a handful of patrons. Greeted by a bubbly young dark haired waitress and shown to table - lovely start. She asked did I have voucher details to... More

Superb value at £16 for 2 courses and £3.50 for a glass of quality house wine. Unfortunately my wife felt a little unwell just as her main course arrived. She didn't touch her food, but it had been served, and I fully expected to pay. However, when the bill arrived I was only charged for her starter. For this gesture... More

The meal was the best yet i have had in a long while. I never seem to have fish when I am out. This will change from now on. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We bought 1/2 caraff for £6 the red Merlot was really good. Cant wait to go back even at full price.

We have eaten here fairly often as a family which includes my 90 year old mother, and we are always happy with the quality of the food and the attentive, but not obtrusive, service. I don't know what it is like on weekday evenings, but at weekends they do tend to turn tables, so if you are looking to spend... More

Having eaten in many 2 fats establishments and been to the 'Belles before albeit sometime ago I was really looking forward to this meal. Arriving we were seated at the worst table, right at the door with one chair jutting out into the path of the entrance. Fearing a bit of chair bumping from arriving diners we did manage to... More

3 courses for £19 and bottles of wine for £12 is real value, 4 went for birthday celebration, good food, nice surroundings, nice staff, gave us extra birthday sweets with the coffee. 3 seafood options doesn't seem enough for a self described seafood restaurant but the sea bream and haddock were both v v dece.

Ate here before Bette Midler concert. Great value fixed price menu, with wines to match. Natalie, our server, was attentive, charming and good humoured. It got a bit warm, but that made no odds. It's a great wee restaurant. The food is tasty and really nicely presented. I'll go again... and again.

Both my partner & I stay less than 500 metres from this restaurant and have walked past it for the last five years without ever visiting... All I keep asking myself is why?!! The food was out of this world, for £19 for three courses I was literally blown away! We also had a bottle of prosecco which was reasonably... More
