2nd visit to Two Fat Ladies. It was fabulous last time, so there is always the worry that it won't live up to expectations, but it did. I love that the Pre-theatre menu has a really varied selection and comes in at fab value at £19.95. There is no scrimping on quality. We arrived at 5:30, were shown or table... More

Another lunch date with the relatives from Edinburgh and our turn to choose. After a lot of browsing and menu scouring I chose this restaurant. It has a lovely gentlemans club type atmosphere with wood panelling and well spaced tables. We were warmly greeted at the dorr and swown to a well set table and shown 2 menus, a la carte... More

Heard good things about this restaurant and was quite close to my hotel so indulged myself - and very happy I did do! The gloomy, wet, windy weather was dispelled by the warm and jolly atmosphere, and a Hendricks and tonic and some polenta bread with sunflower seed settled me nicely. An interesting ravioli with haggis and red onion stuffing... More

We visited the Buttery on Sunday evening and were most impressed by the wonderful and caring service. My mother ( age 90, virtually blind and using a walking frame! ) was given every assistance. The staff helped her to her seat - gave her small portions, beautifully served and even helped her to remove the skin from her trout. The... More

We had an amazing meal here on the 12th february to celebrate my 40th, with the most succulent prawns ever, fabulous beef fillet and some innovative cooking. Felt properly spoilt! Thanks again for a memorable and relaxed evening and great food. x

First time visiting this restaurant and would thoroughly recomend making a reservation. The pre theatre menu was both excellent value for money and was seated in beautiful surroundings with a warm ambience. The experience was enhanced due to the attentive and friendly nature of the staff and pastry chef who created the most delicious salted caramel cheesecake and is one... More

I had not been to the Buttery for years. Good to see that it has not lost any of its charm. The food was excellent, great choices of affordable wines and good service, made for a very enjoyable, relaxed evening. Good to go to a busy restaurant on a weekend night and not feel under any pressure to accommodate two... More
