This is a comfortable hotel with nice rooms but I'm not sure it was worth the £175 per night paid by my employers. For that sort of money I would expect a quiet bedroom where I can't hear every toilet flush, every shower, sneeze etc. Unfortunately not! Also, I would expect attentive staff but... read more

Mariner seems to be the current name for the restaurant open to and next the bar on the ground floor at the foyer of the Crown Plaza hotel in Glasgow. Amazon Local offered a Sunday lunch for two comprising starter and main course with a 175 ml glass of wine each - total cost £19.00. Limited choice but the food,... More

Corporate meeting and lunch included - oh dear! Food dreadful, Glasgow was very busy so we were forced to stay here and had to pay everything up front. Unsympathetic management response to concern suggesting they will review training. Think lunch needs more imagination and taste - sorry. I have been here many times but this was a new low

Stayed here for business 3 nights... large corporate hotel with a lively bar and a lounge with a small screen to watch sports.. Restaurant ok but limited items on the menu...but all in all good food... Great breakfast with something for all... BUT I had issues with reception ...I had a prepaid expensed room which included dinner charged to the... More

We dined here before seeing Al Pacino at the Clyde Auditorium (amazing, by the way!). Wish I could say the same about the Mariner Restaurant. All staff very unmotivated, uncommunicative and downright glum. Portion sizes, especially starters, ridiculously small. We were dining off the limited menu, but it was still £34.99 for two with two glasses of very mediocre wine.... More

Nice clean and airy restaurant to the front of the hotel loloking out at the river. Steak was really good as was the service.

I stayed here for 3 days as part of a conference, and enjoyed their delicious breakfasts all three days. There is an extensive range of cooked and cold breakfasts (full Scottish, continental and cereals). Despite being a carnivore I ate largely vegetarian while I was here - and I was spoiled for choice. The vegetarian haggis was a particular treat,... More

Quality steak at dinner, and an excellent selection of items at breakfast, including poached eggs on request.
