Great food; great place

Last visited La Lanterna over 9 years ago. I used to love the homestyle cooked food and the warm atmosphere of the place! Decided to give it a go with my father in low and it did us justice. Food was out of this world, portions were fantastic (nothing like the chained celeb chef Italian Restaurants), prices very reasonable and... More

Had lunch here with friends. The food was absolutely fantastic, beautifully cooked and presented, the service highly professional, the ambience generally pleasant with an authentic family Italian flavour. The only downsides were that, having no windows and relatively low ceilings, there was a slightly claustrophobic feel to the place Accompanied by a high hard noise level as the restaurant was... I had the duck ravioli and that meal will be the biggest memory of my night, it was delightful! Also having the creme brulee as dessert was lovely and full of flavour. We were welcomed without a reservation and taken to a lovely table for two and the atmosphere was very relaxed and helpful. We were treated really lovely by... More

We did not book but were lucky enough to get a table for 2 where we could soak in the atmosphere in this authentic friendly italian restaurant. No background music which meant you heard the chatter of people enjoying the experience. The risotto was sublime!!. This restaurant is well deserving of the accolades it has earned.

Fabulous food & service. We ate on the Saturday night menu and one of our party who is quite fussy, didn't really find a main couse to suit. Not a problem here, the excellent Restaurant Manager offered a selection of off menu dishes at no extra cost. Brilliant customer service and we will definitely be back.
