Best Italian in 'town'

What a fantastic night with Mrs S, Mrs L and Mr C. I started with the king prawns, followed by the halibut, moved onto the cheese board and coffee. Had a seriously lovely white wine. The food and service was outstanding - just home and had to write my thoughts down. If you visit Glasgow... read more

Booked a table for four on a Saturday afternoon. Did not realise the restaurant was in the basement. It was very hot and we were shown to a tiny table in a very tight little corner. We asked if we could have another table and were told by a very snotty blond ' waitress 'No - there are no other... More

I have been here several times and no matter what dish I order it is absolutely fantastic. The calamari is a favourite of mine which I would recommend highly. This restaurant has a huge a la carte menu to choose from and a pre theatre menu which is fantastic value. They update this menu often so regular diners are not... More

Our hot concierge was able to get us a table and we were pleasantly surprised. No issues with my dairy free diet requests. We started with the minestrone and pasta fagiole soups. Both were huge portions and fantastic. The minestrone was nice and simple and the fagiole was super hearty and delicious. We shared one pasta dish - vegetarian, and... More

I recently graduatiing from my studies and to celebrate a meal was in order. From previous experience then La Lanterna was a certainty to choose. We were all not disappointed, it was the first time since the refurbishment and the atmosphere was busy, exciting and certainly comfortable. We all had different meals and the value for money was certainly there... More

This was our last meal in Scotland and we had some excellent food during our stay. we had found this restaurant through Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. It is down stairs and not very large but it was almost full when we arrive at about 1245pm. We both had the ravioli and then I had the fish and my husband... More

I visited last Friday evening and from the outset the staff were unwelcoming and indifferent. We had to wait ages for our order to be taken. Other diners who had arrived significantly later than we did were being served long before us. When I tried to say that we were still waiting I was ignored this was largely the the... More

We had a large party of 14 or so travelling to Glasgow for a stag do, fair to say we arrived in the restaurant late and where greeted and seated by exemplary staff! And where served very quickly I had the pleasure of enjoying the duck ravioli! Which was stunning and I would recommend it to anyone who is willing... More

I called at La Lanterna recently for an early evening Meal. My choice of starter, Pate Maison came with a berry compote and was a nice combination of flavours. My main meal of Cervo Salsiccia (Venison medallions) was cooked just right for me and was a good size, the saute potatoes were particularly nice. My Dessert choice of Tiramisu was... More
