Description: A venue where left and right handers can exist in harmony without fear of persecution. A licensed land of milk & honey where the ping-pong is plentiful the computer games are retro, the cocktails arrive in gramophones and the strawberry mojitos cost nought but 3 pounds. Vintage fairs on Sundays, sewing clubs on Tuesdays, bingo on Wednesdays plus a host of other relatively interesting tit-bits. Happy days. If you're into this kind of thing..

I will start by saying, I love the atmosphere and the decor in this place and I really enjoy the food. But...... We came in on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Place was relatively quiet. Music was interesting and not too loud, waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered a starter to share and two main meals just after we... More

I've been to the bookclub numerous times since it opened, the setting is great and I love the "vibe" it aims towards but I feel it could be so much more. Although a Saturday night on my last visit the music was really loud and with the type of building and the number of people in their at times it... More

Been here quite a few times and it looks awesome. The drinks are a bit overpriced though, but it is probably worth going just for the sake of admiring the scenery and maybe play some ping pong with your friends :) Very very cool pub/restaurant. I've never tried the food, but heard it's okay.

Thanks for the review - it's probably worth pointing out that from Sun-Thurs our house spirits are £2 with a mixer, Tennentss is £2.50 a pint and our Strawberry Mojitos are £3 every day of the week... Not too bad for the West End, I reckon... More

We have popped in this restaurant to have dinner and a drink. We say down and after a wee while a friendly waitress approached us to order food. After we ordered it we had to wait about 1h and 10 min for our food to be ready. The food was below average, poorly cooked and small portions. No value for... More

Like walking into another dimension ... a funkadelic/retro one! Seriously groovy decor and the staff were so likable and friendly. Bearded man at front of house was especially cool and warming. Food was fantastic... to the point i even asked for the chef's name ... which turned out to be a very tall handsome young man by the name of... More

I've been to Hillhead Bookclub both with and without a toddler and have had an equally positive experience both times. Service is quick, the staff are really friendly and the veggie options are great. Great find and highly recommended!

I've found that restaurants in Glasgow never really live up to the expectations set by restaurants in neighboring Edinburgh. Food in Glasgow seems to be average at best (unless you splurge big time), prices steep for what you get, and service always has a "can't be bothered attitude". I visited Hillhead Bookclub on Sunday evening, mostly in order to get... More

I will definitely come back for a drink. The previous time I had a delicious strawberry gin mojito and paid only 3 pounds. From Monday to Thursday some cocktails even cost 2 pounds! Sounds like a good value for money.
