Description: The Doll's House is one of St Andrew's most recognisable spots to eat...
The Doll's House is one of St Andrew's most recognisable spots to eat & drink- 2015 sees the restaurant celebrate its 20th anniversary. Specialising in hearty "good mood food", The Doll's House offers a diverse range of quality offers- from weekend brunch to value market menu dining. As well as an abundance of fresh scones and pastries, the main menu is packed full of lighter bites like big bowl salads and shellfish specials, along with a hearty mix of casseroles and roasts. We like to think there are some nice little touches too, like the "Eden Brewery Beer Battered Fish", and a new signature piece- a scrummy and slightly indulgent afternoon tea for two. Those joining us at The Dolls House for Sunday Roast every week can feel good about the splurge- we will donate 50p from the sale of each roast to Families First- a local charity based in the area. On the drinks list, you'll find a wonderful selection of gins to suit every palate, complimented by a range of carefully selected fresh garnishes and premium tonics. If you are looking for a spot of something sweeter, the Liquid Dessert range is exactly what it sounds like- a small but perfectly formed collection of cocktails that taste like their pudding namesake. Upstairs in the Eden Mill Private Dining Room, we can cater for cosy dinner parties and celebrations for groups of up to 12.

Good food in pleasant surroundings

3 of us had dinner here. I had been before for lunch and enjoyed it. Our meal did not disappoint. Some reviewers criticised waiting staff. Our waiter was very professional, responding quickly to our needs. The Dolls House was as good as I remember it.

We have been visiting the Doll House every year with our almost 10 year old twin girls since they were one. It has become a much anticipated family tradition. We loved being able to go out as a family for high quality, exciting, well cooked delicious fresh food that was very reasonable, and regarded their children's menu as the best... More

Four of us had dinner here. Staff very friendly and quick to serve however, the quality of the meals was very disappointing, Three of our party had rib eye steak all three were stringy and just about impossible to cut one was sent back and rump steak was substituted but this was just as bad. The fourth person had the... More

Change onwner and also the chef, at least now they serve pub type food just more expensiven the choice is very limited, the quality is not good. In particular the Dessert menu is way limited and quite bad; at least my meringue with fruits and cream was extremely sweet and heavy. When I asked for local ice creams only choices... More

Have been here previously and have never been disappointed. However, this has now changed hands but the high standards have been maintained. Excellent service, delicious food and at reasonable prices. Sticky toffee pudding was to die for. We will be back.

We used to dine here regularly and always relied on the dolls house to serve a delicious, value for money dish. However, we popped in for lunch today and not only did the waitress omit to serve the starters we ordered for some of our group (some starters did arrive (mussels and haggis) but were cold and not terribly pleasing... My initial impression was that I was about to have a good lunch, until that is a chef walked by our table with a bag of batter mix for the battered fish and chips. After that I wondered what was home made and what wasn't. Furthermore beef was dry, however the gravy and Yorkshire Pudding were pretty good. Desert was... More
