The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.

We visited the Peat Inn for a family celebration and had a lovely lunch. We arrived early but our table for 12 people was ready waiting and the staff ensured we were seated right away and quickly had drinks served and menus distributed. Service was first class as was the food which was well presented, along with a great wine... More

It is in the middle of nowhere and a bit of a pain to get to but well worth the effort. This is my 3rd visit and its still as good as I remembered my first visit to be. Would highly recommend, excellent food, ambience and service.

Accommodation was excellent and food was the best I have eaten. Great selection of wine and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Pity it is so far away or I would visit more often. A wonderful experience and if you are in the area it is well worth a try

This place is fantastic! It has been a while since we last visited and in that time there has been a refurb. The place looks great, very welcoming and comfortable. The food, drinks and service were superb. The menu choice was very good also. We will definitely be back!

Visited The Peat Inn with friends for lunch today and it was incredible. Every bit of food that we chose tasted out of this world. The service was spot on and unhurried which is just what I like. We will certainly be back.

Visited on Wednesday evening of 20th January. My husband & I opted for the 6 course tasting menu, me with the wine & as my husband was driving he did not. Each course was an absolute delight, after much deliberation since Wednesday, we have decided our most favourites to be the pigs cheeks with salsify carbonara and the chocolate &... More

We stayed and ate here for a couple of nights. The first night we ate from the Al la Carte menu and the food was certainly great but the taster menu on our second night was marvellous.
