The VIC is a twin venue of sorts, like the Olsens, except everyone here is a healthy eater and we don't see ourselves being billionaires anytime soon. There’s the pub/kitchen, which pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin, clinkity clink drinks from crafty craft beer to posher than posh teacup gin serves. Food glorious food, there may or may not be hot sausage and mustard (depending on the day and the chef's mood and whether or not we were able to catch fresh sausages that morning). The social club, although on the same floor as the pub/kitchen, is on an altogether lower level morally. The DJs are fresher than the air up on the 11th hole, totally non generic and they show up and play records really good. Then there's the one off club nights, the ceilidh and a whole bunch of other great stuff. We’re all about cheap as chips food, shin digs befitting of this ancient old town, cocktails, fairy tales, and pretty much anything else we can get away with doing in a licensed premises that won't result in our long suffering manager and his associates spending a casual weekend in the jailhouse.Free wifi access is available every day of the week, ideal if you’ve got a working lunch or just feel like a nosey on Facebook.

One of my go-to neighbourhood "locals" for meeting up with friends for dinner. Love the ambiance. Nice staff. Good burgers (I haven't tried anything else), and I like the two-for-one deals.

We love that we are your 'go-to' venue in St Andrews! If you think our gourmet burgers are great, you'll definitely need to come and check out the rest of the menu. Our hickory smoked ribs are sensational and don't get us started on the chicken fajitas! ;) We look forward to seeing you again! V x More

Having to go up to the bar to ask for the menus despite several staff seeing us waiting at the table wasn't the best of starts (I also had to do this with the bill) but the staff were lovely and polite. We went for the 2 for 1 burger & hotdog combo which was nice but nothing special. My... More

I've been to the vic on many occasions whilst visiting St Andrews for a bar lunch. This evening however, we chose to visit the nightclub which proved to be a disappointing experience. To begin with, there was no management of the queue which had formed outside which I can only describe as being a rugby scrum. Something that was probably... More

Had the hot dog/burger 2 for 1 deal here with a couple of friends. Food was excellent, chilli dog in particular was incredible. Great beer on draught and great staff. Will be back again.

Searching for a restaurant which didn't require a mortgage, we came across The Vic. From the outside it resembled an old cinema so we really didn't know what to expect as we ascended the stairs. We were pleasantly surprised at the open space and relaxed atmosphere. Our fajitas arrived on a sizzling hot plate with separate sides and tortillas.Excellent, as... More

Thanks for that amazing review! We love that you enjoyed our quirky building design and if we had a penny for everyone who got lost in our toilets, well, we'd have a lot of pennies! Oh, we have to agree with you. Our fajitas's are sensational and excellent value for money so it's great to read that you enjoyed them!... More

About 6 months ago my girlfriend and I went to the Vic for lunch. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we received no service and left without ordering after 15 minutes. Today we went back, thinking we'd give them another chance. The food came about 40 minutes after we ordered. When we finished eating we had to wait another 20... More

Was starving and on a quest for breakfast only it was past the time breakfast is served in most places, but VIC to the rescue. Yummy veggie breakfast topped of with a 'bloody shame' mocktail. I will be back!

This is one if my favourite restaurants. I love the unusual decor and the cocktails are amazing!! The food tastes great, it's all very rustic. I love the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this to anyone also St. Andrews is a beautiful town, well worth walking down towards the abbey and along the waterfront.
