Cosy cocktails

Visited here on Monday night for cocktails with friends. The menu is extensive and there are so many delicious sounding drinks to be had - we ordered two pitchers (Tommy Collins and Absolut Passion) and sat on a sofa in the lounge/bar area. West Port has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is a... read more

The cocktails here are amazing. The lunch menu is so tasty, the homemade soup is really good and all the food is really well priced.

We popped into this place on a day trip to St Andrews. It is lovely inside and the staff are very helpful. The menu has plenty to chose from, and we ordered the sirloin steak, which came with 2 sides and a sauce for £19.00 - good value for money. We also ordered the morrocan lamb tagine. Both dishes can... More

Called in on the off chance for lunch. From the start the staff were very pleasant and efficient. Ordered a burger and the Thai mussels and one of the servers recommended the lager I tried that was very nice. Ordered bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For £3 I expected fresh bread, but the pieces on top were very... More

Nice gastro pub and pleasant menu but the haddock was way too salty and ruined what would otherwise have been a lovely dish. Chips lovely but also pre-covered in salt. A pity as friendly service, good ambience, warm and otherwise welcoming and at a reasonable price.

Hello LadyLillian14 I was really disturbed to read your comments about the food being too salty and have taken the time to ensure that I speak with every member of staff who was working on that day (and also those off duty) both kitchen & front of house to try and understand what could have happened - you see we... Food ans service was average. 3 stars as the price was cheap. I would come back if I didn't want to spend much but wouldn't if I wanted decent food.

I love to dine at the Westport, always recommend to friends, family and work colleges. All my visits have been faultless. Although I will say I was in for lunch the other day with a friend who wasn't happy with her baguette, it was a part baked baguette which wasn't cooked quite right, we brought this to the attention of... My wife and I made our first visit to St Andrews ans we went to West Port based on a recommendation on T/A. We were very glad we tried it out, although we both only had a simple lunch of a half a baguette and a bowl of soup which cost £5 each. We were very impressed the quality of... More
