My friend and I went pre-theatre and we got there about 6pm. It's about 15 mins walk from the Royal Mile. It was not busy and we were well attended to and the food was served in good time. We took our own beers and no corkage charge. We had two starters to share and two main courses with pilau... More

This was my third visit to kismot and yet again it didn't disappoint. Food was excellent with a vast amount of food to chose from on the menu. Great that you can bring your own alcohol and the staff are happy to provide the glasses. Excellent tasty food and fast efficient service. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again next... Went here last night with family having read the reviews that mum and dad cooked the food and the rest of the family did the rest - we liked that so we thought we would give it a try. Despite being very noisy - restaurant was packed - easter weekend the staff were AMAZING - not faized at all by... More

Loved the fact you could bring your own bottle, also the service was great- attentive, warm and friendly. The food was lovely although disappointed I was too full to try the chocolate naan at the end. Excellent quality of pickle tray- loved the lime pickle.good atmosphere, someone was trying the killer curry and everybody enjoyed watching that. Would definitely go... More

Walked in with no reservation on Wed 16April at 8.30pm was busy but seated straight away. Awful smell of varnish which was very strong but the food was amazing and delivered to us very quickly. Would definitely return.

Eaten here before when it was fairly quiet. had a great meal. This evening food ordinary, my chicken pakora starter was luke warm but I ate it. Main was lamb madras lovely and hot but not as good as last time, lamb delicious. Have eaten better though, in Glasgow and Manchester. Return?Maybe not.

We took my brother for a birthday meal after visiting this place last year. We arrived shortly after 9 and it was pretty quiet. We finished our starters and although it was tasty we found it rather average and there appeared to be lots of food colouring in the kebabs. We were shortly into our mains - my husband had... More

I was expecting a better, less generic ambiance given the reviews. Also, service was slow and not very proactive. Food quality was fine although disappointingly the much praised Dad's Lamb was not available.
