I was taken to the Kismot as a birthday treat by my sister and brother in law after being told by them that they had a great experience the last time they had visited. I had never been to a BYOB restaurant we arrived with our supply of bottles of beer how ever had to ask for a bottle opener... More

Eaten here before when it was fairly quiet. had a great meal. This evening food ordinary, my chicken pakora starter was luke warm but I ate it. Main was lamb madras lovely and hot but not as good as last time, lamb delicious. Have eaten better though, in Glasgow and Manchester. Return?Maybe not.

We took my brother for a birthday meal after visiting this place last year. We arrived shortly after 9 and it was pretty quiet. We finished our starters and although it was tasty we found it rather average and there appeared to be lots of food colouring in the kebabs. We were shortly into our mains - my husband had... More

I was expecting a better, less generic ambiance given the reviews. Also, service was slow and not very proactive. Food quality was fine although disappointingly the much praised Dad's Lamb was not available.

Kismot is always our go to curry house because of a combination of excellent food and great service. After reading the review below however, I felt compelled to write my first review on trip advisor! I visited last night with my partner and my partner's mum. We were sat straight away for our table at 7.30 and staff, as usual,... More

Overall, not a good experience for the following reasons; Service – we arrived at 8.30 for a table we had booked for 2. We were sat down quickly and given menus straight away. From this moment on the service went downhill. About 30 minutes later a waiter arrived to take our order and over an hour later our food arrived!... More

Took a party of 6 here for dinner tonight. The place was buzzing. Lots of big tables with chat smiles all round. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, from the brother and (gorgeous) sister on the desk to the helpful staff serving the food. There's a clear window behind the front desk do you can see the mother, father... More

I have been to Kismot several times and without fail it provides amazing service and great food. The staff are incredibly courteous and accommodating - and they're always happy to help out with requests. I came here for my boyfriend's birthday once, and they allowed me to bring a birthday cake which they stored in the fridge while we ate... More

Coming from the Centre of Birmingham and having visited India, I have since the 70`s many years of sampling all types of Asian Resturants, some authentic, some mediocre, with varying degrees of quality food and service. Here the food was first rate and just as I remember in India, the welcoming service from the owners son and Daughter was great, more... More
