Sunday buffet

Have eaten this Sunday buffet a couple of times. Not a huge selection, but the food is always fresh and replenished very regularly. Relatively inexpensive and student discounts as well. Price usually includes a soft drink and icecream or coffee. Would recommend.

The best deal!! We were sampling curry all over the UK and this was definitely the best we found. The buffet is an excellent deal, especially if you want to try a different curry without the commitment. We tried a number of meat and vegetable curries, loved all of them. So good, so yummy!!

This was my first time eating Indian food and thanks to the gentlemen who helped us, I now love it! We did not know how the order but told him what spices we did not like and he steered us beautifully! I had the rice with lamb, veggies and cashews with the mixed veggie side. IT WAS WONDERFUL. The naan... More

Have visited theRed Fort a few times and at different times of the day/evening, the buffet iislands s always fresh and ho. The main menu has everything a curry lover could want, if you can't decide just ask for a recomendation... tell them what you like and what you don't , trust them and in 20 min you'll be tucking... Loads of visits here, BYOB and a good choice of curry given how much an evening out here will cost you.

This will always be one of Edinburgh's finest establishments. I went with a group of friends that were visiting the city and they absolutely loved their experience from start to finish. There is no corkage charge and nor do they set a limit on the amount of booze that you are allowed to bring in. The staff are very accommodating... More

7.99 for the buffet lunch, 12 dishes to pick from with numerous sides, all fresh and hot and good quality chicken and lamb. Service friendly and byob has no corkage charge. Well worth a visit.

This was our second and last visit. The first time we are here we did so on a whim, it was shabby inside but the food was ok- we needed somewhere quick. The chicken was nicely cooked. But I did note that all the dishes with potatoes tasted like the potatoes were from a can, if you've ever tasted canned... More

Quite good food considering the price, which makes it great value. Not an overly large buffet however good enough. No fancy decor but who cares?

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
