Great restaurant, fantastic food and attentive service! Visit here with friends when we go out out for food in the city and also recently visited with my Dad for my Birthday - I love it! Definitely recommended! X

The set menu is more expensive than the combination of the most expensive items, from the set menu, on the main menu. Considering set menus are designed to make life easier for the kitchen for large groups, this is appalling behaviour and a complete rip off especially when the restaurant demands that large groups use the set menu.

Gusto is perfectly ok for a chain that does standard pizzas and pasta and, although by no means amazing is not a bad place to stop off for a quick bite in town. I have a discount card from my work that I have used a few times over the past year which gives me 20% off the bill and... More

Seriously best food I've had in quite some time. Randomly discovered this place on George Street and I'm so glad we did! The tiramisu martini is AMAZING. And the desserts are out of this world. Also, amazing waiters! FIVE STARS! If you're in Edinburgh you must stop here. When I'm back, I will definitely be stopping here for at least... More

We booked a table for 4 online, during the Edinburgh festival on a Saturday night for 7.30pm. The weather was nice-ish and we were given the opportunity to eat outside if we wanted or inside at our reserved table. We chose inside and our table was upstairs overlooking the restaurant. The decor is great, loved all the black and white... More

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants but I cannot fault Gusto's. We were running late for our booking but this was no problem. Food is nicely cooked especially when you consider how busy the restaurant is.

My daughter and I stopped here after exploring The book festival and Old Town. Our waiter (from Portugal) was awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was cooked to perfection. Definitely stop here when in Edinburgh.

You know from the moment you walk into this restaurant that it's going to be a great experience. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. We all tended to have the pastas and all were delicious. It was so good we booked to come back a few days later!

It was my birthday and as a previous customer of Gusto I received an email offering me a complimentary main course if we bought another meal. My friend tried to book online but it said the discount wouldn't apply so she booked by phone. On arrival I showed the email on my phone. The server was lovely, very helpful, friendly... More

I have signed up to Gusto s loyalty scheme, so when myself and some friends were travelling to Edinburgh to the Festival, I thought this would be an ideal choice for dinner. According to the online terms, eating on a Sunday offers a massive 40% discount, so that appealed also! Edinburgh is very busy at the festival time, so I... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent visit to Gusto Edinburgh. I am happy to explain that Gusto Edinburgh doesn't offer, nor promote a 40% discount at our restaurant, however certain other Gusto restaurants, Gusto Glasgow for example, do offer such a discount. We are very forthright and honest with our offers... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
