Lovely dining experience

My husband and I had a wonderful 3-course lunch at Wedgwood. The food and service was excellent, the lunch menu is particularly good value for money I thought. Great as a romantic meal for two, but could also see it as good for any other occasion. If we lived closer, we'd go back for sure!

Great atmosphere and service. Special Hogmanay gourmet menu. The staff were amazingly cheerful and attentive give the number of covers they had done on the day. food was exceptional. The restaurant is not as glitzy as some of the more well known eateries in Edinburgh but the food was far better.

I have given this three separate ratings: Excellent for the quality and presentation of the food, our meal was fabulous. Very Good for service - the staff were very attentive without being over bearing, something that is easily done. The only "tiny" niggle that we had was with the tables that they had. We sat downstairs and the type of... More

We visited on our first night of a three night Hogmanay trip. The place was busy, staff very pleasant and we were treated to a feast of great food. The menu was varied and provided good choice. If there was a negative it would be the slightly overpriced wine list but this was the only down side. At the end... More

What a gem, what a treat, what a gastronomic delight. Words can really not begin to describe the superb meal we had here to celebrate our wedding. The most exquisite meal I have tasted perhaps ever. We were a party of 25 and even then did not have to pre-book, another delight. All our guests were astounded at the quality... More

We visited Wedgwood for their Hogmanay taster menu. It was a great start to our evening and an excellent alternative to the street party. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. We particularly liked the venison which was cooked to perfection.

Food was good, service was fine but the only thing I can say is it was slightly over priced. Other than that you won't be disappointed with the food that's served 👌🏾

We love trying chefs menus when traveling and while Wedwood was good, it wasn't great especially when considering the exchange rate for Americans. The service was excellent however which is why we are rating this a three. The amuse Bouche was a tasty mushroom soup followed by six courses. The seasonal vegetables were okay but nothing special and the pigeon... More

We visited Wedgwood on the evening of 17th December with our business partners who had travelled from London to celebrate Christmas. The whole experience was above and beyond anything we expected despite the many excellent reviews. The service was impeccable and the quality of the food absolutely superb - it was all detailed, interesting and tasted quite sublime. In addition... More

We visited here for lunch after a recommendation from a friend and after looking at the website. It was an enjoyable meal and at £16.95 for the lunch menu, very good value. The food was well presented although the portions weren't particularly large in comparison to other fine dining establishments. The food was nice and the menu offered a good... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
