Fantastic quality food!!

Visited here for a special occasion and the service and food did not disapoint - every dish was imaginative, fresh and tasty and we didn't want it to end. Excellent range of wines available and the atmosphere was perfect. Definately reccomend and can't wait to return.

Well where to start. My husband and I were recommended here by a chef friend. Food high end and staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Prices very competitive.

Dinner for two at this restaurant near Edinburgh city centre. Definitely upper echelon cuisine. Venison and lamb main courses were excellent if rather too nouvelle in size. Meats were complimented by imaginative take on vegetables/side dishes. Wine list first rate. Staff friendly and helpful. Would have warranted five stars but for the rather cramped space of the downstairs dining room.

This unassuming looking restaurant on the Royal Mile hides a secret...it's exceptionally good (although I wouldn't have liked to be seated downstairs). From starter to dessert, every morsel was divine. Each course was a picture on a plate, and the whole meal was delicious. We had: Isle of Mull cheddar and onion bread and butter pudding Sound of Mull diver... More

Visited in early May 2015 for a meal celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. Excellent food, a great range of drinks and brilliant service. Food is competitively priced despite the excellent quality.

Went along with a friend for lunch today and it was just delicious. I normally only have two courses but the waitress was so convincing we had a dessert. So glad we did, every course was just delicious and full of flavours. Very attentive and friendly staff, can't wait to go back to see what is in store next time.

Came here with friends after reading good reviews and seeing the £13/17 (2/3 course) set lunch. I was hugely surprised to find the food to be so upmarket for the price. I had squash veloute (the best soup I've ever had) followed by a bream and lobster bisque. The Bisque was a bit too salty for me and they had... More

We were seated in the basement, but since we were ten persons we dident have time to stare out the windows anyhow. somewhat old style deco, but dining area and restrooms was clean and inviting. You got to order table in advance, due to popularity. Recommended:-)

We had dinner at Wedgwood about 2 weeks ago, on a busy week day. The service and setting are great, as expected for that kind of up-scale restaurant. But the dishes are uneven. Some are irreproachable (beef carpaccio first course), but the three main dishes we ordered were way way too salty, masking much of the tastes. The second issue... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
